It was quite an interesting day today. Went for a 400 mile ride with 4 Harley riders. We stopped at a casino to let them take care of their fix and when we came back out another group of 15-20 riders on Hondas & Harleys came rolling into the parking lot. There were about a half dozen or so of them that came over and started asking questions about my VV. The next thing I know the Harley riders in our group take off and leave me sitting there answering questions. I knew this kind of stuff was going to happen from previous posts. But the neat thing about the whole situation was that when ever they sit and talk about their Harleys they have all the time in the world to adore and discuss their precious HOGS. After today's ride, I have no doubt that I made the ultimate decision in buying my VV. It is the best bike I have ever been on and as far as MPG goes, it out performed them by a country mile! We would pull up to a gas station and they would ask how much I put in. I always put in less gas than all of them and I even had my SO on board. I averaged around 43 MPG over the whole trip doing around 70-75 MPH. What a hoot! I have to say it is nice to be different! Like one of Song Fan's motivational posters says "I would rather be one in a million riders instead of one of a million." It is great not to blend in!! Many more (S)miles to come.

I agree fully. It is great not to blend in and be like the herd. Had a couple of VTXr's come up to me on Saturday and asked me all kinds of questions about my VV. Spent a good little time with them and all were "WOW". What blew them away was when they asked what I was riding before the VV - told them a VTX. After that they asked me where the local dealer was and I pointed them in the direction.
But I have had some HD and some GW riders snub me because I dared to ride something than the norm. Oh well, their loss.
Ride safe and ride often.

I still rarely see another Vision...let alone one like mine.

The wife and I had a nice weekend...went to a wine tasting about an hour away...busy place. Taking off our riding leathers and a guy and his wife comes walking across the parking lot from his car leather HD jacket on...living in the middle of HD country this is always interesting. Yes, I've used the "never been much of a pack follower" for the handful of snobs that have said something.

He stands next to us looking at as we keep packing the bags with our leathers...and he says "what a beautiful bike." What kind is it...I tell him...he says he thought for a second it was a BMW...I told him that's what I got rid of once I test road this.

Got noticed another half dozen times that day...stop lights...on the interstate with the thumbs up salute.

Next day went to a micro brewery for lunch that had cycle only parking...only bike there was me. Two 20-somethings come zooming next to us in the cycle only zone...one guy jumps out and the driver backs it out and goes and parks the car.

"Dude...we were following you and had to come check out the bike...never saw one like that...what is it?" After lunch we were putting our leathers back on and two girls park and are walking by to go eat and they both say..."what a cool looking bike."

I am still amazed since I have a 2008 how many people don't know what it is and say they have never seen one before....how cool is that...going on four years for the bike design and people still say that.

After 2 1/2 years of owning mine, I have to remind myself that my Vision is probably the only one that drivers on the road around around me will see this year.  On one hand, I am proud of my association with Victory and wish them all the success in the world.  Having said that, I sure like being the only one out there.

where's the Po-man?

we've got a few consistant Vision riders in my area, though I don't see them too often. It is still a rare sight and I get the "who makes that" question, or "that's nice, I've never seen that before". I still get the older crowd who doesn't ride at all giving it the most admiration.

Hey, at least most of them know it's a Victory or at least what Victory is in my area. Turn the clock back to '99 and even up to '03 and I still got questions about.... "Who owns Victory?"
Hopefully in another 10 years Mike Song will again think outside the box so we have to go through it all over again.

Where i live i have seen 2 other visions drive through town but only once. Other then that there is from what i have seen only one victory in town and it is a nice, loud, jackpot. There are a couple of riding groups that know me because i am the "kid on that vision" and other sayings that some i wouldnt like to say. but i still get a lot of looks, and questions from riders, and non riders.

All the questions do get old though after a while (just sayin). It is nice to read there are others riding the Vision that feel as I do, it's what I'm riding and I'm the only one who needs to be happy with the bike. I have heard of folks who have been snubbed by other riders but I have to say thats never been my experience on any bike. Sure had the odd HD guy say something about the odd styling but never in a nasty way, just conversational. I always say "yep it's different," and continue on with the conversation. I truly believe that often what are percieved as negative comments don't start out that way and we have a choice in how to respond. If we reply harshly the conversation goes bad from there on. Acknowledging that it is visually different and it is seems to smooth the way for a good discussion. Of course I was riding Road Glides back when no self respecting HD owner would, so I suppose I'm use to riding whats outside the norm.

I agree with the lack of Visions. Tucson is no small town, yet I don't remember seeing more than two other ones in town. Kind of a shame, but it makes my V unique!!

About 15 years ago when people asked what I rode and I replied "Tour Glide" they would get a blank look, then say "Is that the one with two headlights? ughh, thats so ugly".

I enjoy being one of the few on a Vision.

I normaly don't go to motorcycle related events, ride in groups, etc. So I don't hear too many comments except when I'm getting fuel, or at the store. The comments I have got have all been positive.

What I like is when you're riding down the road and you can see the folks in the car passing you climb into the back window just to get a better look. I just throw them a peace ( V for Victory ) sign when I notice. Or if it looks interesting I'll ride back up beside them for a little ways. kind of a tease I guess.

I owned HD's and still love em for what they are but not the attitude of some of the riders. But that goes for any brand of bike,,arrogant riders in all groups. When I get dissed about a "jetson bike or spaceship,....I just tell em..then that must make yours a flinstone era bike then and walk away.

I'm out riding and about there VA-man. It's odd, the few times I've actually seen Songfan, one morning at around 6am in the winter time he come a chasing me down and we pulled into MC'd's for a few moments. And other than actually setting up a time to meet, I don't really remember seeing him on the road, even though we travel a decent section of 240 loop in Memphis. It is odd.
