Ran across this on line, I think it speaks volumes about what riding does for us..... and to share it with your best friend makes even that much more.

Watch this and then share you stories:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SuFO4y8eFI

His daily journal is very good as well:     http://theoasisofmysoul.com/

+1 God Bless them all. Never easy to loose someone to cancer but a child is the worst. Ride on Brother and you will see your son again when you are done here and go home....

Ride hard, ride fast but above all ride safe and free...

I know this has a sad part, but the reason why I put it on here is because riding does something for each of us in some way. Let us know what it does for you. Obviously riding and doing so with his best friend - his dog - has probably saved this guy.

For me it saves my sanity. I get sick of seeing and hearing about the insanity in our world on TV and elsewhere and riding is my escape. I am in a special place when I'm on my bike. Sometimes my wife and I talk for hours while riding. Sometimes we ride for hours without saying a word, just immersed in what riding does for us and the wander of the scenery. I have gone so far as describing the act of riding my bike as "my drug of choice". I truly am at peace when I'm on my bike, except during rush hour in the city.

Life can really throw us a curve ball every now and then, but look at the community of friends we have just because we love to ride. All I can say is I sure am glad I rediscovered riding again after being away from it for almost 25 years.
