Pittsburgh, PA | i was talking to a friend that has a Goldwing and he started to list ride we all could go on, THEN he laughs and says, wait u cant go on that ride, "you'd need a oil change half way through".. i made the mistake of telling them all about the Visions 2500 oil change interval.. the GW is every 8000 mile!
then i started to heasr jokes like, hey wheres going on a 5 hour ride, you might want to change your oil before we leave.. etc etc

Gainesville Fl Home of the Gators | Ask him about his 16K spark plug interval, and 24K coolant intervals. Also ask if he noted the conditions that are listed for EXTREME conditions in the owners manual; which cut the interval in half on the oil |

New Bohemia, VA | Don't forget things like final drive also, that needs to be changed. A few things I don't miss about a GoldWing. No comfortable place to put my feet for long periods of time. I can change my oil in the time I save from not having to stop to stretch and loosen up for another leg of riding. If you listen, you'll hear them complain more about the quirks of riding the Wing and will feel out of place because yours doesn't have those issues. I stood toe to toe with a BMWer rider who was telling me of all his creature comforts he had on his bike. Then he told me had to stop every so many miles because his leg got too hot from the motor.
Everytime you get near his bike tell him you smell antifreeze and watch him go into a panic... lOl... |

Tarpis99, your the best!!! i remember how fun that fake oil leak was!! you travel 500+ miles to a rally and then u think your big is now leaking oil at a pretty quick rate.... you should of seen the faces!!!

Saw a guy yesterday on his LT like the one I had and it brought back memories...the crap foot position (like the GW) forced him to ride like he had a corn dog (stick included) up his arse and I felt really sorry for him. I remembered how my left knee could last an hour and I needed to get off the bike and walk, even after a fist full of advil in me before I got on it. And it was called a Touring bike...BS!
Test road a Vision and bought it the next day and sold the LT...it was a busy day. I can't believe that the Vision was the first design for a touring bike that started with what would be the most comfortable position to sit in for a long time...and built the bike around the human element...daaa!
Having a touring bike you can't tour on is like owning a really hot Ferrari that runs exclusively on Locust piss for fuel...you end up standing around your garage looking at it thinking how great it looks...to bad you can't use it!

NE Florida Jacksonville | I have a few die hard HD guys in the CMA chapter I'm in. They have taken to calling my Vision Jestson, so I got a license plate with that on it and I have the sound effects of the Jetson's car in my Ipod. Now when we get together to ride I make a point of the sound effects and taunt them to try and keep up I'm tired of riding my brakes to keep them in my mirror. You need to keep a sense of humor at all times.  |

New Bohemia, VA | Vinner1 - "built the bike around the human element" - in my early posts that was my number one plus about the Vision and it seemed as though they asked me to sit here and let me describe how I WANTED TO SIT AND RIDE. Personally I believe Victory is the FIRST motorcycle to do it. You want to hear a good one, the NEW Indians are the second ones to do it. I wonder now how many will follow? |
