Well, after many dollars and many more headaches, my 8 Ball is now sporting a factory radio. I added the new iPod cable and it is perfoming flawlessly. With my iPhone I can even stream Pandora or Sirius through it, although the display doesn't recognize the song titles.

My dealer got his parts this week also. Quite the job to put it all together.

Looks nice. I wish I had some of those black parts on my Vision.

What did it end up costing?

Not like Victory is the only one to do it but why does any manufacturer require a hand written note from God to upgrade our tunes? Don't the people sitting at the meeting listen to music? Heck, we already paid for the junk one or none at all. Why can't it be a universal setup so we can buy an Alpine or Walmart stereo and just put it in and go? I know Apple will NEVER jump on board to an idea like this so we will be a slave to their business model forever. But many aftermarket stereos have Ipod support.
Either that or have different stereo available at time of purchase of the bike or cage. Yeah, they would charge us $500 to install a $169 stereo but at least we would have better and a choice.

With DEEP dealer discounts and no labor ( figure 3-4 hours at the dealer) $1350 plus my speakers. Do it again,,,,nope. I would expect to see Vic offer a kit later in the year. I did purchase the bike for about $2500 of MSRP, so I figured I had a little to play with.

I know of an 8-Ball owner who installed an amp where the radio would have been, put in some good speakers and just plays his iPod from it. Still has the stock 8-ball console. Personally, if you want to go the radio route, why just get a tour premium, black it out, remove the trunk, get the 8-ball seat, put in the lower push arm and you'll have all the fancy mancy stuff but it will be sit like the 8-Ball. Just a suggestion since I'm going to lower mine as well. Really no difference in the 8-ball otherwise except no perks...

I was going to do that, but by the time you totally black it out properly (for me) the labor end will put you way above this. I am talking heads, handlebars, forks etc. The body bits and pieces are easy.

you are right in those regards, and hopefully vic will offer an easy way to install the amenities for the ones who wants the looks and the perks.

Looks good. I was gonna do the 8-Ball but with the deal I got on my Street I couldn't pass it up. Anyone know how much those black control pods are?

The audio switch pod is not available in black. Even on the Ness bikes it is chrome. I painted mine with a paint meant for plasitcs.
