From what I've read, they work best with a S1L1 map. If you've got that setup, your good to go. Planning on doing the same mod myself later this year.

I had the S1 L1 set up done at the dealership before I took delivery. I had the dealership send Bob the stock cans to do his magic. I should get them back sometime this week. I'm also "not" mechanically inclined and somewhat worried on how I'm gonna take the S1's out and slap the gunner tips and atom bombs back in. Can I contact you to walk me through it?

Cool. Will do as a back up plan. Got the manual on flash drive now and the pics look simple enough. Thanks!!

Spot,
spray some WD-40 on the joints, wait about 30 mins and then start working the pipes in a circular motion. They will break free eventually....

Except for the reverse option and cam carriers the 09 & 10 models are pretty much exactly the same as the 08. So unless you plan on getting into some fairly major work the 08 manual will work just fine for ya.

Took off the S1 L1's and installed the Atom bombs. Wow!! What a difference! At idle it sounds very mellow. Just slightly different. The big difference is when you throttle up! Dam I love these pipes. It's loud enough, but not obnoxiously loud. (Like if baffles were removed) I also have not experienced any popping. Seriously!! Horse power gains are hard to tell from my perspective. To me, the motor was already powerful to begin with. Through all the gears, these pipes sound soo sweet! I highly recommend them. The Youtube video does not give these pipes any justice. They are way better and well worth the wait.
One last thing if you're doing your own work. While taking off the side body panels to expose the exhaust screws......be very very patient while putting them back on. The plastic parts can withstand a considerable amount of bending so at some point, you'll feel like your going to snap them as you try to bend them under the closed saddle bag doors. Take your time and align the forward end of the side panels first, match them up to where they snap in place, then comes the scary bending. Bend the plastic slowly under the bottom lip of the closed saddle bag door working from the front back. If you struggle with it like I did......take a lot of breaks and take your time. It can be stressful, but cooler heads prevailed in my experience and the both went on without damage. I don't want to go through that agian.
