Southeast Iowa | +1 on the E3's. As for the darkside.........some have done it but it just does not seem like a safe or practical solution for a motorcycle. Overall tires are much cheaper than repair bills and hospitals. |

Montreal, QC Canada | I had a flat rear and still drove 5 miles to the Dealer. The side walls were strong enough to get me there with no damage to my rims. I won't switch from the E3's. |

Memphis | E3's are also Goldwing tires if you are ever out on a trip and need a match. Not many Victory dealers but Honda is everywhere. |

Tucson, AZ | I vote for the Dark Side on he rear. Ran two Dark Side tires on my Valkyrie before trading for my Vision. No problems at all. Will go back when this one is ready. As far as safety goes, what did they put on a Boss Hoss for many years until Avon came out with their 300 series? |

| I did the E3 front and rear, E3 front with Darkside Rear, and now I'm running the Avon Cobra's. I got 10k from 2 rear E3's which is comparable to what I'd get on a typical HD Dunlop. I got 15-17k out of the Front E3, should have been replaced at 15k but I rode on it much longer than I should have. It is the worst mileage I have ever gotten on ANY front tire. So far I've got around 5K on the Cobra's with NO signs of wear and fantastic grip. They so far appear superior to the Dunlop E3 which isn't surprizing since this is what Arlen runs on his bikes.
Oh and I didn't like the Darkside. I always knew it was there and just couldn't get beyond the extra effort in corners. I ride a lot of twisty roads so if you do as well stick with a bike tire. If yu do a lot of HWY miles the Darkside is a great option. |

A bit of a tangent here, but not only are the tires the same as the Goldwing uses, so is the oil filter (GL1500 is the exact same, and the GL1800 filter also works), so if you're out and about and need an oil change with no Victory dealer around, just stop by a Honda dealer.

Grand Cane, LA | Hey Teach, what CT did you use on your Vision? I know that there are several out there that will fit our rim size but was curious. Several on the Darkside forum have been using the Goodyear Triple Tread and have had good results with those. |

| atv, I was running the Bridgestone Potenza 195/55/16.... Lots of folks here running that same tire. It is just a tad too wide if you are running the hitchdoc trailer hitch IMO. It will rub on the hitch on big bumps. No hitch no problem. Honda makes the FIT which runs a Bridgestone or Dunlop in 185/55/16 which would leave plenty of spare room with the hitch |

on the edge of Los Angeles | I have recently traveled 13.200 on a E3 Rear. I think what helped was 42 psi single rider and trunk was off part of the time.
I did ask about the new Dunlop HD tire that's on their touring models earlier but did not get any concrete response here.
Generally the E3 is available for less than most tires that are its same size load rating spec. + its easy to get.
So for those who want to stay within the OEM tire then keep up the pressure and by the tire when its on sale before you need it.
Much like oil, oil filters and the tires that is the only thing the VISION needs besides the fuel it drinks. |
