High Ridge, Mo. | Installed the BEAUTIFUL Cee Baileys (light gray 18") a month ago and just looked at it while we were in deep freeze mode. The old thermometer hit 50 today and I played hookey. Backed out of the garage raised the windshield and....... it was broken at two screw holes. Not just one crack at each, but several.
First- I didn't use the torque wrench, but I left them loose enough that I thought I'd better Locktite the screws.
Second- The holes didn't line up well, but by leaving all screws real loose, I was able to wiggle them in.
Third- My motorcycle garage is a heated basement garage and didn't get below 50 or 55.
I wrote Cee Baileys tonight and ordered a new one.
Where did I go wrong? Should I have drilled out the holes, slightly? I'll use a torque wrench the next time to be sure, but I really don't think I over torqued them. |

Northeastern Penna. | Sorry to hear about your windshield. I have the tall 22" Cee Baileys,the holes did not line up exactly,but at
the same time,I didn't have to force the alignment. Is it possible there was a weak spot somewhere on your
shield ? |

Richmond, Virginia | I have three windshields 2 of which are Cee Bailey's. I change them out as needed weather indicating. I found out that by purchasing rubber washers and using them between the shield and the hex screws, that it protects the shield during multiple change outs. The rubber washers are no larger then the diameter of the screw and are black, so you dont even see them. Perhaps this suggestion might help. I would also be surprised that CeeBailey is going to charge you for a replacement one, they have always been fair and treatedm me very well. |

, FL United States | I have the 22" light gray tint and aprx 15,000 miles on it with NO problems. My Vis is parked outside w/ only the Victory Vision cover and other than some corrosion from the salt air here in Florida, I have no problems. |

| +1 on do NOT use Loctite near windshield/Lexan/Plexiglass. Military found out long ago it causes cracks.
Also if the holes cause the the screws to be tight against the edge of the hole when the 'shield expands or contracts could cause the cracks. When it does not fit properly call the CB then and they may advise you what to do. |

High Ridge, Mo. | I realized the Cee Baileys is not drilled as perfect as the original. Also, they use a smaller bit. Will waller them out a little bit for more play when expanding and contracting. |
