Waiting for the UPS guy to deliver the L2 baffles I purchased that were talked about on another thread. I did take the old ones out. Took about 20 minutes. Took off the bottom pannel (6 bolts) popped up the V pannel by the rear lights, removed the 2 bolts that holds the baffle in each pipe and removed. I did purchase a 33 piece security bit set on Amazon for 2.98 and a 5 lb slide hammer for about 20 dollars that made the removal simple.

I did start the bike up with no baffels. It's loud, but does sound very nice. Best way to discribe is it's close to what my Hammer S sounded like with Conquest Customes GPII's on.

Should have the new baffles in latter and will post again.

Hey Bubba, keep us up to date on how the sound changes when you put the new exhaust baffles in. If I remember correctly, these were basically machined aluminum plates to fill the exhaust port where the baffles used to be, right?

They are in and sound GREAT. Yes they are machined alluminum End Caps. They are very well made, and are much heavier than I thought (in a good way). I think the cap is heavier than the whole baffle that was removed. The note of the exhaust is a very low pleasing note. I like louder pipes and these are just what the Doctor ordered for me. Not too loud, just about right. Can idle through the hood without getting complaints.

I think I was the first one to get these so I will suggest what I think they should do to make the install easier.

Thinking the bolts were the same size as the Tamper proof ones, I went to the Hardware store to purchase some Chrome bolts that are not tamper poof. Get the first cap in, and find out they are a much larger size. The four new bolts should be included with the end caps (especially for the cost) or at lest noted that you will need new ones.

So I get the holes lined up again (this is not as easy as it sounds even with a ton of WD40 you can not twist once in the pipe) and find out that the OD of the stock holes in the pipe are too small to recieve the new bolt. Take them out again and enlarge the holes.

Because of the new size of the bolt (Allen Head) and the limited amount of space between the body pannel it is very difficult to tighten the one bolt.

It's been raining here so I have only rode a couple of miles, so no idea about performance. I do know I did not loose any, more later. I will call them today on my thoughts.

Bottom line, would I buy them again? Yes!! They look great and sound perfect for me!!

Did just over 100 miles. They sound great and it cut down the popping. First half of the ride it only poped once and just a few on the ride home. They bark nicely when you get on it and are nice and deep at idle. Performance wise, I think I ganined some at the top end and about the same at the bottom. This week Lloyds Cams, air box and VFC and up to the AVR to have the wizzard Dyno the bike. Seems the black soot is much less also!

I talked to the dealer (Westport Powersports) and Mike there told me that they have them made
as they are ordered. It doesn't sound like they have alot of them out there but when I saw Bubba
in Spirit Lake his pipes sounded awesome.

I'd be interested in seeing those dyno #'s Bubba. I know that 1/2 of the people get sick of hearing the word dyno everytime an engine/intake/exhaust mod is posted. Thing is that I had my baffles out of my bike for a couple months. Once I got my cams upgraded, I was a little disappointed in the lack of power that I didn't have. As recommended, I reinstalled my baffles and VIOALA! Noticeable difference in torque acceleration at the bottom end. Maybe the plates restore some of the necessary restriction to keep the bottom end numbers up. That would be great. Please keep us posted on this.

This caps are actually much longer that the stockers and do provide back pressure. Looks like I have the same set up as yours except the baffles. Lloyd Dynoed it just after I gad the cams installed with the new end cap. 109 HO 108. something on Torque
