While riding back from getting my new cams, it started out at a "warm" 35F.  I rode about 100 miles before taking a break.  Temp started at 35 and dropped to 31 when I shut it off for about 10 minutes.  I started it up to hit the road again, and I think it was at 35 again before dropping down to 31 pretty quickly.  Then after 31 it went to -9 and stayed there....  I know it was not that cold, but I did pass a sign that said 22 degrees.

You guys that ride in the cold (below freezing),,, does your thermometer go negative below freezing?????

One of the quirks of the bike (especially since it was designed in MN).  -9 = 29, -8 = 28, -7 = 27, etc.  I have ridden down to 11 degrees but can't remember what the temp gauge read when it was in the teens.

Mine has read accurately at 27 degrees. Only been in the 20's a few times.

#57 not to bust on you, but I know my has never been accurate, nor do I expect it to be. A thermometer on a motorcycle is a perk, I would rather the engine run long and prosper above all else, which it has. The closest I've seen mine to be accurate is around the 50 - 70 degree range, less than that, it reads about 2 degrees cooler than what it really is, and above 70 it will read anywhere from 2 - 10 degrees warmer. Though I have found it to be accurate with the -9 thing, when the actual tempature is 31 degrees it will read -9, though the readout may have been at different reading.

If you have an accurate reading on your thermometer count yourself very fortune, for me, it is strictly a source of entertainment...

I always check when going by one of those big bank thermometers and have never been more that 2 degrees off.
Never seen the -9 thing.

It must be.

That is the first time I rode in below freezing temps.  Mine has worked fine with the exception of this.

Actually #57 of 100 in every crowd.
Done riding for a few months, will have to push her outside to see what she reads while not in motion.

I ride all year and have seen it do the same thing. I know 22deg and above it reads the true temp. I have been on my way to work when my bike reads -9 -2 -14 and drove by signs saying it's 8 or 9 deg. All I need to know is when the gage reads neg. Cover your skin! Its dam cold out there. I wouldnt want to be on a HD when its 8 or 9 out! This bike is just to fun to not ride when its cold out.

Went on the Toys for Tots ride in Chicago this morning and managed -9 on the thermo after riding the highway for a while. After i stopped it went back up to + 30 after riding on the highway home it went down again but not as much because the sun was finally out. I dont know how to post a picture but heres a link.

That is really weird as mine has not only worked at all the temps but is within 1 degree plus or minus from the weather service as I have a app on my phone that tells the local weather and temp where ever you are. I was not aware of this problem and being in MI we get our share of cold unfortunatly. Archie

Mine has worked fine also. It's been within a couple of degrees even at 25. It's the upper ranges that I think mine has more variance. Around 90+

Glad to see some others that work correctly.
I was starting to think I was losing it.

Mine works perfectly - in CELCIUS (which most of the rest of the world outside the U.S. uses)

One suspicion I would have is: Where does Victory buy the sensors/display from? I suspect maybe Japan, India or China (celcius) - unlikely bought from Canada...
My thinking is that maybe the supplier can't figure the math in converting F to C - the firmware might be the culprit.
You people who are having the problem - maybe set your system to METRIC to see if they work properly. If so - Victory's vendor messed up BIG TIME!!!
If you do - just remember Zero C is 32F, 20C is about 70F, and -6C is about 22F

I'm surprised that it wasn't already on the metric system, everything else on the bloomin' bike is...who won the war anyways...?

Canada switched to METRIC - because is a better system.....

Only the Americans are too stubborn to change - that's why HD still exists selling bikes that were out of date 50 years ago....
