Winston-Salem, NC | Does anyone have just the passenger backrest installed (without trunk). I cannot find any info on where and how it attaches. Also any info on the luggage rack behind the passenger backrest, are either backrest or luggage rack quick release or are they bolt on? Thanks! |

New Bohemia, VA | Hey SBG - I swap up occassionaly and it is a snap. Since you do not have the trunk, remove your seat and you can pop up the panel where the trunk would have gone. The holes for the trunk are the same one for the passenger backrest. The rack bolts onto the backrest support and it is easy as well. Both items will run you a little more than 400 clams. You do have to modify the panel, and the template and instructions come with the back rest. You can use a dremel tool to make a good clean slot cut. It comes with large rubber grommets to cover you imperfections in the cut. You can also order another panel for about 100 clams so you'll have one for the backrest and one without.

Litchfield Park, AZ | I have both installed on my bike (sorry, I have no idea how to post photos on this website). The backrest bolts into the 4 bolt holes left by the trunk. It should come with 2 rubber grommets for when you cut the slots in the filler panel. The luggage rack just bolts onto the backrest. It is all VERY VERY SIMPLE. Personally, I have the tour pack but most likely will never put it back on the bike again because I can get as much storage with the current configuuration and I think it looks a hell of a lot better. |

| Well it depends a lot on what you mean prefer. Like the others I have the trunk and the backrest I can swap in. I prefer to run just the backrest, BUT practicality dictates the trunk for 99.99% of my riding. So what I'm saying is the trunk stays on and the backrest stays in the shed, lol.... |

I have to agree, however, I have to haul a computer back and forth, and the trunk offers the best weather protection for the size of my bag. If it wasn't for that, the pack would be in the shed. Plus, with the pack also allows the commo and CB system, but who needs a stinking CB anyways?
Here's one for you, I've got this hair brain idea to make a SoloSeat for the Vision. The 8-Ball would be the perfect one to have that configuration. Like everything else, it would be quckly interchangable requiring a seperate seat and bolt on. Just a "vision" I have that has not come to reality yet. What would you think of a solo seat for the Vision SBG?

Chris, I've thought about this for the last year or so. If I had an extra seat, I would have the passanger cover and foam removed and the riders part recovered in leather. Right behind the riders seat, put in a partition, and pad it and cover with leather for a backrest. Then off the backrest mold some aluminum sheeting or plastic to the sides of the seat pan and back to the rear edge of the seat pan. Then cover it in leather. If your really good at fabrication, it could be made into a small trunk. I think some call it a "Smuggler" trunk. It could be removed and the regular seat & trunk installed in minutes.
Come on you guys at Victory, make it, I will buy it!!!

New Bohemia, VA | VT, that is similar to what I've had in mind myself for some time, yes if Victory would make it I'd buy it. I think the trunck lid could actually be used for the smugler lid, if cut around the edges right, and it could keep the lines of the Vision. I just keep looking at that to see what would make it work, without a lot of work. I'm no fabricator, but I've jimmied rigged a lot of stuff.
IMHO - the solo seat Vision 8-Ball would be the ultimate, "I'm gone, you might see me later..." bike ever built... |
