I have seen these devices for a while and was wondering if anyone had actually installed one on the Vision -If so, what brand do you have and what is the level of difficulty for installation. Kuryakyn makes one for HD with connectors but not for the Vision.

The install is relatively easy. I only had one issue with my Kuryakyn 4710. I had turned on my Hazard (Four way flashers) and did not turn them off for about 15 minutes. I was riding when i turned them off and noticed that my normal turn signals would not work properly. Had to turn the bike off and let the turn signal module and i assume the Kury 4710 reset. Never a problem since.

I have the Kuryakyn 4710 on mine and all I can say is it REALLY increases visibility from the back. Not too bad on the install.

I noticed in the instructions that it says to never turn on the 4-way flashers without first unplugging the load equalizer or else bad ju-ju will occur.  2nd point under IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Is the load equalizer intergrated into the 4710 or is it a seperate component that needs to be installed somewhere eles on the bike???

I have an 08 Vision, and do not need the load equalizer, so no issue.

Does the '09 require it???

I'm willing to take correction from someone who knows better, but I believe that the load equalizer is only needed if you have / or when you CONVERT from standard filament type to LED lamps which have a lower voltage draw than that for which the system was designed.

The equalizer keeps things from going haywire.

I just bought the 4710 but have not installed it yet. With it installed is it a problem removing the trunk occasionaly and did you also cut the two wires going to the relay also???

For those who haven't done this mod it is WELL WORTH the 3 hours to do....However, a NOTE for '09 bikes:

While doing the mod based on Firehawks GREAT pdf file. I found one hiccup (I guess only for the '09 models) when splicing the green/pink wire UNDER the seat DO NOT CUT THE WIRE use a tap splice and just use it to feed power to the 4710 module. Then trace the wire bundle up to an area right before it goes up into the tour pack and find the green/pink wire, here is where you CUT IT and place a scotch lock (spade connector) on the wire going UP TO THE TOUR PACK and tape the wire going back towards the main wire harness so it won't short to anything.

Other than that this is a GREAT mod and should make the rear of the motorcycle seen more readily when braking, turning or using the hazard lights.

I'm truly puzzled? I called Kuraykin and asked the question about installing the 4710 on my 08 Vision and their direct answer was "don't do it" I see here in the forum people have been sucessful in their efforts to install the unit for their trunk lights. What's up?

I am curious to know why Kuryakyn says dont do it.  I would like to have the reason why instead of just accepting someone saying "Don't do it."

I installed mine almost a year ago. Only had one minor issue when using the emergency flasher for more than 10 min.
