Vineland, NJ United States | I am not trying to start a new oil thread.....just a question? Manual calls for Victory 20W-40 syn-blend. I want to use M-1 V-Twin 20W-50 full syn? I have 3,000 miles on my bike and it still has the Victory oil from the 500 mile service. Does this affect the warrany and do you think the small increase in viscosity will cause any problems.

New Bohemia, VA | ed I'm afraid to answer, but will. I personally would stay with the recommend viscosity, but as long as it matches the recommended jaso rating, you are covered by warranty. |

Jasper, MO | The viscosity difference won't matter much, but be sure the oil in question does not have any friction modifiers, such as Teflon, in it. If it says "energy saving" or some such on the container, I would be wary of using it in a wet clutch. Be sure the oil you use has a JASO MA rating for wet clutch applications if you don't want a sticking or slipping clutch.

SF Bay Area | Lacking a JASO rating, the Victory branded oil is a cute ploy to get you to only buy their oil. While there is nothing wrong with the Viictory branded (Lubri-Tech) oil, I would run any good, 20W-50 motorcycle specific oil. I have used Repsol and Motul for 10 years, with no issues. |

I'm just wondering can it just be virgin oil, or must it be EXTRA virgin oil. This seems to be the debate as some have been able to go with just the virgin olive oil and not the Extra. It seems to be a few cents cheaper too, and as much as I ride that spells HUGE savings. Thank for the video as it clears up many things about an oil change and, well, you.... |

San Antonio, TX | Extra-virgin olive oil comes from virgin oil production only, contains no more than 0.8% acidity, and is judged to have a superior taste. And "Light olive oil" means refined olive oil, with less flavor.
So there is no such thing as "Extra-virgin Light olive oil". This was just another attempt at humor.

Reno County, KS | I've been a fan of Mobil-1 products for years. Of course I was looking into changing over to it before deciding to go with Amsoil. I can't believe so many people are loyal to an oil that re-branded as "Victory" and marked up 110%. According to Mobil-1's site: "Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 engine oil is also designed to provide the proper frictional characteristics necessary for wet-clutch engine/transmission systems." That's pretty much it for me. I like Amsoil but am tired of jumping through hoops and paying $70 just to get it to my door for ONE oil change. Just have the oil changes at a dealership for a low price of $169.00

So Cal | Victory oil SUCKS!
Ive been using Castrol 20w40 mc oil for some time. I was at the dealer and figured what the heck, save a trip. Bad idea. The motor runs fine but the trans shifts like crap. I will be changing oil sooner than 2500mi. No victory oil ever again! |

| The Mobil 1 V Twin Full Syn 20/50 is just fine. You'll still be changing it at the same interval, it doesn't quiet the motor as good as amsoil, but it won't cause your clutch to slip either.
I asked my dealer which was the better option 10/40 or 20/50 for the Vision and he suggested the 20/50 so thats what I run. |

LaPorte,Tx. | I have been using Amsoil 20-50 due to my location (really hot) for the past 18,000 miles. Bike runs great, better shifting and less tranny noise, also, there is no clutch slip issues. Oil changes are at 4000 to 5500 miles. |

East TN | I am currently running Mobil 1 4T Racing 10W-40...It is BETTER in my opinion than the Vic oil...Don't know about Amsoil...The shifting seems smoother and just a little quieter also....I think I am going to stick with Mobil 1 4T Racing 10W-40.... <thumbs up> GUYS (ADMINS) WE NEED MORE EMOTICONS!!!! The 8 that we have to chosse from are terrible!!! |

I was wondering if you have a fuel smell to your oil after that many miles ? I went 3600 on one change and had a fuel smell in the oil. I don't do long warm ups and most on the miles are crusin,not alot of city miles. What am I doin wrong ?? Also 20/50 mobile one
