Stopped at the body shop yesterday morning cause there was 4 bikes out front. Bob just bought a brandy new Triumph Thruxton. Very pretty bike.
http://www.triumph.co.uk/usa/2009_Thruxton_9830.aspx
He bought the red with white stripe. I think it would pretty in British racing green and a white stripe. They made it look old school and did a real nice job. It has fuel injection but they are encased in shells that look like carbs. The wires come in from the bike. It has old school speedo and chain drive. The dealer put the SS exhaust and download on it and dyno tuned it for $9400 out the door.
One guy had a newer HD, one had a BMW with the paint that changes color in the sun and the other guy was riding Bob's CC. We headed out and picked another guy on an '82 HD dresser in white. They always look sweet in white. It was perfect day for riding. 41 degrees in the early morning and building up to 72. We had about an hour ride on back roads to a guys house they have known for years. He hasn't had a "job" in 25 years. He earns his money by working on old Triumphs, Nortons, BSAs and even had an Indian Enfield that he owned. He buys out dealers that are going out of business. He has a 43 ft trailer with nothing but frames under it. He has an aluminum body Grunman step van stacked to the dash with engines and engine parts. 4 containers with bike parts. Just tons and tons of parts. One thing I thought was neat is a starter for kick starter bikes. It has 2 electric motors attached to rollers. You step on the floor switch and it spins the rear wheel to start the bike. A God send because of his bad knee. After a fun tour of his place we road back home. Just a great ride and a perfect day.

I live in SE CT. The Thruxton has a really nice sound to it with the Triumph performance pipes on it. I have recommended Triumphs for years to people that are looking for a low cost dependable bike. Plus they have tons of performance parts and accessories available. I was told some guy that made his money in real estate took over Triumph and they are a real contender out there which is good for the customers. More choices, more competition, more customer satisfaction from all manufacturers.
Here's the dealer Bob bought from. http://www.gengrastriumph.com/
