I had my 2 1/2 seconds of fame today. Our major newspaper put me and the co-pilot on the "FRONT PAGE" !!!!

Headlines were Forests of fire burn thruough firefighting budget

and Radioactive Canadians a daily occurrence at U.S. border - this meaning ME !

Here is the story: http://www.vancouversun.com/health/Radioactive+Canadians+daily+occurrence+border/1856584/story.html

Check out the good looking bike.....

That's an excellent picture of you and the Mrs... suitable for framing!! I posted a comment but I don't think it will get past the censors... so I'll try to remember it here....

"Some people will do anything including get radiation treatment just so they can get a picture of themselves with their cute wife and their shiny Victory Vision in the media fresh with Lloydz cams installed by Kevin Cross"

Does your radioactive "glow" keep you from needing to use the HID light on the bike? Surprised your co-pilot isn't worried about burning her hands on your shoulders. Maybe you were to blame for the extreme hot weather in the Seattle area, too.

NOOK-U-LER!

It's a good thing that the Border patrol didn't know that your Vision is the latest in a long line of bikes named after an Arabian's Camel!

Mark - my HID might very well be nuclear powered. I recall melting some cars with it at night.

Fred - you mean to tell me you remembered 'Clyde' ?

Miles - the radiation incident occured on my way to team up with Mr. K. Cross.

Great write up and what a happy couple.

I always enjoyed the super group "The Firm" with their song Radioactive.

I guess I am radioactive too....but it is from natural decay.

Nice shot and a really cool story!

I wonder what else they test for? I have to get an Anthrax inoculation at least twice a year. The price I pay for working in the Middle East I guess.

Don:

How could anyone who's getting mail from the AARP and not suffering from dementia forget "Clyde"? It is one of the best names for a motorcycle I ever heard. I only wish that I had thought of it first.

Do they have a CARP?

Great photo by the way.

I hope the stress test worked out in your favor.

Hey... since when did something that appears in media need to be true... LOL

Or as Mark Twain said "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story."

Oh yeah - 'stress test'. That turns out to be pretty amusing story in itself.
Got up this morning - saw the headline - on the day that I go to my Cardiologist to find out the results of the test.
Walked into his office - saw his copy of the newspaper, tucked it under my arm, and waited to see him. Handshakes, greetings, what's new?
Showed him the paper - he started reading - then cracked right up..... funny as hell !
Good part? I'm OK - young co-pilot is looking after me well.
Next good part? Hopefully some other radioactive peeps will benefit from knowing the U.S. Gov't will find ya and hassle ya. So STAY AWAY until you cool down. Or at least you will know why they are grabbing ya and treating you like a terrorist......

You missed your chance. You should have blamed the radiation on the Vision.

I'll bet you could have convinced them that inside the trunk was a flux-capacitor.

I dunno. I think if Walmart, Cosco, Home Depot and JC Penny all had 50% OFF sales on the same Saturday - that would do it. Or maybe if the U.S. Gov't dropped all restrictions on Green Cards.......
Or maybe Quebec gains independence from us Chinese .......

Or we decide to sack Washington DC (again).....

P.S. Looking north tonight I see a lights in the sky. Could medical procedures be the cause of the Marfa Lights, the Aurora Borealis or the secret power source for Rush concerts????
