I think one of the best perks of a touring bike like the Vision is the mini vactions you can take. The wife and I decided to take on today by riding out to Gywnn's Island, about 75 miles from here and have some lunch on the only restaurant on the island.

The road is a great casual ride going out 33 then onto 198 to Gywnn's Island with not much traffic to contend with. We saw a few other bikes out today and got the good biker wave and fortunetly the state police was roaming around alot so the traffic was rather calm. The scenary around the tidewater and northern neck is some of the best in the control and the people are absolutely great. When we got to the restaurant the sign on the door said cash only, and since I still have a teenager in the house and I am married, I had very little on me. Now, there is not really much to see on Gwynn's Island except the older homes and the Chesapeake bay and being there is only one restaurant as I mentioned, we headed over to Mathews and had lunch at Lynn's Restaurant, just a quant little place.

After we ete, we headed on back to the house as the with had to work today, but it was really a great 4 hours all today, to ride and eat. It's hard to get the wife to sit still any length of time but she always seems very content on the back of the bike.

Thought I'd share to break up all the monotony off posts and hope folk here will continue to share their rides as well, after all, it is about the ride....

Perfect idea. My wife has become my best riding partner since I (okay "we") got the Vision. She likes me to take her "anywhere" now on it. Today we ordered the lower deflectors which will arrive in the next couple of weeks. That is great since I have to go trucking up north and will be gone and not sitting here waiting for them. Then I'll install them and we are taking a weekend ride up the Calif. coast for another min-vacation. There will be more pictures after that jaunt. Here is one of today over looking Donner Lake on the old highway.

"Cash Only" means they arent paying all of their business taxes.......... glad you had an exceptional ride and a good meal, but as a small business owner myself, it angers me when i see other small businesses not paying their part. Credit card business only costs
about .7 percent of the ticket price. If a business cant accept that as a means of payment, they probably have more to worry about.
(I know this has nothing to do with your post, just kinda thinking outloud) We were down that way last weekend for a 20th anniversary party for some friends of ours. You are right the ride is great. We used to keep our boat at one of the marina's in the area before we moved it to Hampton. Glad you had a good safe ride !

welcome aboard sierravic, that is a great shot. Looks like you and I have the same "motorhome". The wife and I really enjoy riding but she's hasn't got past the two hour mark yet. I'm hoping that will change. It's got nothing to do with riding or the comfort, she's just not all that into going a lot of places.

Hey there Varyder, I am impressed with my wife. She went from an hour on the Jackpot and not being comfortable, to riding 6 plus hours and willing to go further even, on the Vision. She really enjoys it. She even has ideas for add ons and customizing it as well as new clothes she needs so she'll look better and all (haha). We have both found after nearly 20 years together we can have fun alone again (alone as in leave the three kids at home and take off for a day or two). Enjoy he ride wherever it takes you.
