Okay, I've been one week without a day in the saddle and I am having issues!!! I do not understand how anyone in the cold snowy north does it!!! I had a plan to take the Vision out of service long enough to get some of the panels painted. Last week and the coming week looked like the perfect time as the weather was predicted to be really crappy and we had just returned from Laughlin on the 8th in one heck of a snow storm. (You would not believe the looks we got from cagers as we passed by them)! So in to the dealer it went to get the panels off and have them look at the timer issue again while they have it, over to the paint shop went the panels and all is well, or so I thought!!! Turns out the weather man was WRONG again!!!! The weather is totally ridable and I'm without a Vision to ride!!!!!! I took the wife's Shadow to work one day last week but it just ain't the same!!!!! I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!! It will be late next week before I get the Vision back and I don't know what to do with myself!!! So how do you handle not riding a bike like the Vision for an extended period???? The wife and I had a GREAT time riding through the snow storm, stayed warm and dry with the frog togs and heated seats. It was without a doubt one of our more memorable rides!!! The bike is more dirty than it (or any bike I have owned) has EVER been and it is sitting at the dealership waiting for me to bring back the painted panels. This really SUCKS!!!!!!!! Yes, there will be pics once it is all back together and washed!

1 week isn't so bad!! Try 4 to 5 months!! You really go through withdrawal symptoms. My father in law and I are toying with the idea of packing the bikes in my enclosed motorcycle trailer and pulling them south until we run out of snow. Maybe we will ride around the "SOUTH" for a few days to gain our sanity!! LOL Good Luck on your upgrade!!

First you place the new parts you have bought in front of the tv so you know the time will come to install them. Then you hope for the snow to come fast so to at least ride the snowmobile. As spring approaches you can now only pray that the mounds of sand and salt on the roads are washed away by lots of rain so the hibernation will end.
The first two months are the worst. I keep telling myself it will end soon ........it will...it will, won't it ........soon real soon?

Bearcat,

I had to go without riding for 5 days, twice, over the past three weeks. I could not put my boots on until the sixth day after a doctor worked on my feet. My toes complained about the boots but I told them to just shut up and that they should just put the Vision in gear.

You might wonder what your Vision dreams about while the work is going on. Here is a video that Songfan made by tapping into the Vision's computer and recording Victory's built in dream program.

Ride Safe!

P.S. If you get work done on your Vision in the future you might also get your ingrown toenails cutout and killed at the same time to reduce Vision downtime.

Elders have told me time and time again. "If I knew I would live so long, I would have taken better care of myself." I am trying to take that to heart and take better care of myself.

Last week I got a little taste to--hopefully!--hold me over until spring finally gets here. We had 3 days of unseasonably warm weather. Go up into the 50s! First day couldn't do any riding because everything was a wet, slushy mess. But the second and third days were pretty good. I got to burn 2 tanks of gas .

Funny story on the first tank of gas: when it came time to fill up I whipped into ye olde local gas station, opened gas door, took off gas cap, and then remembered that I'm supposed to lean it over to the left to fully fill the tank. So, I leaned it over to the left and promptly dropped it on the tip-over protects... First thing I did, of course, was check to see if anyone saw me do that, then I righted the bike and put the kick stand down. Hey, it's been 4 months since I could ride! Cut me some slack.

Hey: Bearcay do you want so cheese with that Whine (lol). Once a week i go out to the garage and dust them of then i drool on them and then i wax them and then i drool on then and so it goes until at least April 1st or the sand is gone. I did ride last week when the temp hit 36 but the sand makes for some extreme riding.

You polish, you pamper, you nail the wife or girlfriend (or both if you can get by with it) as many times as you can.

Winter can be an enjoyable time.

Wuz three weeks for me... Got a good day Sunday - 12C (55F) and sunny. Rode to White Rock BC (lovely beach just north of the US border) and parked outside one of the beachfront restaurants. Sat outside and watched the parade of cars, bikes and strollers. Mostly watched cars bikes and strollers just about falling over when they viewed the "SPCSHP". I get almost as much kick out of watching the watchers - as I do riding.....
Been a bad winter here - usually ride at LEAST once a week year round - but this year - been some NASTY's - so doomed to ride the 300.
Hang in there, Bearcat!!!
