I really want a Vision after my demo ride--can't get the bike off my mind. It is a bad time for a major investment for me. Divorce business is down (people can't afford to split up) and the wife is a mortgage broker on commission only so she may be out of work at some point.

Anyway, I'm looking at a couple of used '08 Premium Tours. One says it has the stage 1 w/the gattling tips. What is the difference between S1/L1 and S1/L2? What air filter and other mods are done w/the S1?

Can anyone tell me how wide the back of the bike is at it's widest point? I'm still concerned about getting it in the garage. Might have to cut down some shelving on one of the walls.

Thanks again.

It looks like about 33"wide at the saddlebag area, although at the tip to tip area of the side mirrors it is 45". The service manual states overall width at 45.2". That must be at the mirrors. Hope this helps.

Thanks! The problem is I park my bike between my two cars. The front (mirrors) will be up by the hood of the cars but the rear will be around where the doors open. THAT is the problem. I don't want to have to back the bike out every time I have to get in the car.

At 33" it sounds like I'll have to remove some shelving in the garage to make more room or park one of the cars outside.

I think removing some of the shelving is certainly doable, just to keep your vehicles out of the elements.

Hey, if you get the divorce there should be one less car in the garage. Problem solved!

Shyster,

Don't know if this will work for you, but the Wife and I have been doing it for years...

The vehicle on the left side of the garage gets backed into the garage.  It can be backed over 'very close' to the wall and that leaves the driver's door in the middle of the garage with plenty of room.

Good Luck!

You would definitely want a Condor Lift or similar parking block to hold the bike straight upright (Just drive straight onto it and hop off.. I have the Condor Lift and love it.

reminder just measuring the simple width at the rear is useless because that all changes when you park the bike and lean it left onto the kick stand. what may start out as centered between two cars quickly turns to 35% more on the left side. Im thinking forget the garage, get a toolshed or portable work house and dedicate that to the Victory garage.
