5 miles from nowhere
Let me start this by saying, I have wanted a H/D Electra Glide since 1987. But could never afford it or had time for one due to work or family. And have been riding the 1982 CB 900F I bought new in 1985 with 28K miles to date.
After looking at the market and going to a Toy Run, I didn't want to be one of the crowd.
Plus the E/G has not changed much in say OH 21 YEARS!

Victory caught my attention and I have been looking at various Victory sites. I had my heart set on the King Pin Tour. The looks really get me, it looks so cool. I had saw the Vision, but never really considered it due to it's far out look. So I like the look of the King Pin, but the function of the Vision.

My Wife and I took a test ride yesterday on the Vision. It is a lot of motorcycle to say the least. Slow speed handling was exceptional. Town riding drew a lot of looks from cagers. Rolling onto the freeway doing 70 MPH I had to hold it back it wanted to go faster. My Wife didn't like riding with the windshield in the lower position, to much wind as she was several inches higher than me, but was good with it fully up.
She likes the looks of the King Pin Tour, and I can't make up my mind King Pin Tour or Vision. They are both Touring bikes, but there is a big difference.
We have never rode more than 3 hours from home on a bike but I want to change that!

I presently own a Kingpin Tour and a Jackpot. I have test driven the Vision. If I could sell my Jackpot, I wouldn't hesitate a second in getting the Vision. My wife drives the Kingpin. If you plan to do some longer rides, I would definitely go for the Vision. The Kingpin is a very nice bike though. I just miss having music with me when I ride. Tried the I-pod and headset. Too much wind noise I also like the adjustable windshield & heated grips and seat on the Vision. It just is an awesome looking bike, especially if you don't want to be just another one in the crowd!! Just my opinion though!! You will love either bike. They are well built bikes--second to none!

I traded my Jackpot for a Vision. Loved the Jackpot and still wish it could be in the garage but I absolutely love the Vision as well. The level of comfort with the Vision is hard to pass up.

Although the Kingpin is a great bike, there is no comparison when it comes to going on longer distance rides. On my Kingpin, my wife had to get off at least every 100 miles. She would never even concider going on a long trip, but after we had the Vision for about a month, she was already talking about a long trip which we are going to take this summer.
After we got the vision we started a new thing. Instead of going downtown for breakfast, we usually ride out about 60 or 70 miles on Sunday for breakfast.I find myself riding it places i wouldn't have on my Kingpin. I have actually riden to work when it was 18 degrees. Think hard about it, You won't forget it.As for the looks, it grows on you .Especially when crowds surround you when you stop.

Ride Safe, Mike

I did the same thing. What's funny is that both of my Victorys' drew a crowd! The other night I was riding my Vision home from work and an Escalade pulled up beside me on the Interstate and I saw a flash. It sort of startled my but then I realized I was getting my picture taken at 70 MPH.

Either way...you won't go wrong with a Vic.

I would love to have all 3 of them (Kingpin, Jackpot & Vision), but the pocketbook doesn't let me do that at this time. Maybe I should get the Jackpot paid off and then buy a Vision. I do love my Jackpot too, just would like to have the comfort on long rides. Usually when a group of us hit the road, we generally do 200-300 miles in a day. When I drive by myself, I like to put on 300 to 500 miles in a day, That's where the comfort would be nice. 500 miles on a Jackpot is a little much, especially with my lower back problems. Can't say I have had any problems with any of my Victory motorcycles except running out of time to ride them! Ride safely!!

Thats where the rider in me knows that there is a world of difference in the two bikes not just looks.

They are both clasified as tourers, but really one is a Bagger and the other is a Tourer..

6.6flylow I currently own a brand new 2007 Kingpin Tour and my 3 month old Vision Street Premium. I bought the KP because it was just HOT LOOKING and I couldnt take my eyes off the bike. It has the tribal flame limited edition skins on it. You dont see many of them at all. it gets a lot of looks, and is a relatively comfortable bike. I added driver backrest which is great. Loaded with chrome
digital dash the works. I went into my dealership one day while they were working on my KP (oil change) and for the heck of it drove
a Vision for a couple hours while waiting on my bike. All I can tell you is that i knew i had to have one by the time I came back to the dealership. My brand new KPTour is now for sale with about 400 miles on it. Granted i stare at both of them side by side in the garage and one is just as handsome as the other and 90% of the time I want to keep both, but you can only ride one at a time and
if I had to choose to own just one bike, it would have to be the Vision. I am going to reluctantly post my KP for sale in a couple weeks once i get back from vacation. If you want any specific comparison, I guess Im your man since i own both ride both, and both are new. Hollar if you wanna chat. Cpt. Mac

I'm going to pretty much echo what airguy said. I had a KP Deluxe for two years and the wife and took several trips on it. But she couldn't go more than about 75 miles without having to get off it for a while. We traded the KP for the Vision and we both absolutely love it. My wife bugs the hell out of me to go riding all the time and she has no problem staying on for long distances. Now when we stop it is just for fuel (us or the bike) or because she's just bored and wants to look at something.

While I do miss my KP at times just for solo riding, I will say emphatically, "BUY THE VISION, YOU WON'T BE SORRY!" :D

I'd buy a plain Kingpin. Buy a leftover which should save you a bunch of bucks to start with.

Then, I'd go on the Corbin site and and order seats, bags, fairing w/IPOD, and their trunk all color matched.

Then, when you get home from the trips, take all the stuff off and you have that great looking cruiser again, without all weight.

Sorry you had to trade your Jackpot for a Vision; I couldn't so now i have both in my garage.
You might say I have the best of both worlds.

But that's just my opinion

I started with a Kingpin and while having it serviced I saw the Vision. Put my deposit down 11 months before the first one came off the line. The ride is exceptional to say the least and I sold the Kingpin shortly afterwards. No regrets even though I went through 2 Victory purchases to end up with the Vision. Don't waste your time as I did just get the Vision and be done. You won't regret it!
