Hello all,
I just picked up my new 08 Vision on sunday. I have only put about 200 miles on it so far, but I am impressed. I traded a 1500 Goldwing in on it. I hope I can get as much reliability out of the Vision that I got from my Wing. I will be checking out the site trying to get as much info as I can about the Vision. The new bike sure is comfy. I will wait til I get a few thousand miles before I form an opinion. Is there anything that I need to look out for on the 08s?
Thanks, Ron in Seattle

The main thing you need to watch out for is all the "attention" you will get from other riders, guys and gals in cars and pickups, young people, old people, peolple in parking lots and wherever you ride may take you. With few exceptions you will get a lot of thumbs up!!

Congratulations and ride safe!

Welcome....when I was looking into my Vision I rode the GW and the HD Ultra Classic. Of course I had owned another Vic so was somewhat biased. I think you'll like your decision....I know that I still love mine after 5,000 miles.

Congratulations and welcome! The Vision is a great bike, and I have throroughly loved every mile. So far, its overall the best bike I have ever owned. Like all vehicles, especially with a new model, there are bound to be a few bugs. But I have to tell you that so far, mine have been really minor, and all dealt with by my dealer. If your dealer is a good one, any problems you might encounter should be easily dealt with. The engine, drivetrain, and handling are second to none, and have all been flawless, which is most important to me. The Vision is one great ride, and the more I ride, the more I enjoy it! Hopefully you will find the same is true with you.

One more thing. This forum is a source of some really great information, and there are some really knowledgeable and helpful people here. So enjoy the ride, and welcome aboard!

Well, you want to go back and rethink you're decision. I'm sure it's not to late to get a few dollars back. Since I've had mine, my life is a total wreck. The grass is growing out of control, my Jeep is just sitting and rotting, my wife, I finally remembered I had one. The positive part is I get her to ride sometimes with me so we can continue that "bonding" thing. The Vision is costing me a fortune in oil changes and tires and other little accessories like Street Version backrest and luggage rack. I can't seem to get anywhere because people are constantly wanting to know "what is it?" It has put me in very dangerous situations because when I ride down the road there is always somebody that wants to ride beside me for a mile or two to take a closer look. Oh, and I've even be flipped off by <brand removed> riders. So, unless you're prepared for all this agony, pain and shear comfort of the best bike available, sell, sell, sell before you get into deep. Once there, there is NO TURNING BACK!

Welcome. While I agree with most here that it's a nice bike, mine does have some issues that seem to be very common with this model & manufacturer. I guess what I'm trying to say is, what some consider minor problems others may not. I'm one of the may not's. I wish you well with yours.

Mike

Welcome rwilly and I hope you enjoy your new ride!

One thing I have noticed with mine that you may want to keep an eye on is the gas gauge.  Mine gets great gas mileage, however the distance from point A to point B is always much longer than if I take my Jeep.

I just don't understand!

Welcome, rwilly! I live South of you, in Tacoma. I got my '08 in November last year, and only 16,000 miles so far....I love my bike! It is truly a wonderful machine, and I have never regretted buying it instead of the Ultra, or the 'Wing. I recently went on a trip to South Dakota and back with my Dad, and Uncle, on an '08 Goldwing, and 02 Yamaha roadstar respectively. I aced my Dad out on mileage by 2-3 tenths of gallon every time. ---Metalguy

Welcome Ron,

Another south-ender here, I think a group meet in the spring sounds like a good idea.

Along with the others I want to welcome you too Ron. You will love the Vision, and find a lot of really helpful information on these forums (as well as some strange ones, but its all fun).

Ride safe, and if you are ever in Southern California, let's ride!
