I love the boke, the engine, the handleing, the look. just want one that right.
can anyone list the diff between the 08 and 09's? i know dash lighting and wheels, etc...but it sounds like the fitting of the body is much better along with many other small fixes

What? Where did you come from? There is no way I would give up my 08, we've been through too much together and it just gets better all the time. I couldn't give up my Vision any more than I could give up my wife, or cut my clutch hand off. I hope you're not just trying to stir up trouble. But seriously, you may be able to provide someone an affordable Vision, so shop on! Ride On! Ride Safe! peace out.

With all the Harleys ive owned there is no way i will give up my Vision. It rides to good to even consider. But im used to pulling over and tightening things every 80 to 100 miles....i can live with an eighth inch difference in my side bags...matter of fact i dont even see it when i ride.....

Glad you guys like the bike, as soon as I get to FL, find a Victory dealer still in business and get the warranty issue fixed I'm putting it up for sale...I was looking for a touring bike and this one sure isn't it. Going back to a Venture as bad as I hate to give up the American bike for a rice burner but I need something dependable with the miles I put on it. 4500 miles in five weeks on the Vision and thats all local, I'm afraid to head out west on it.

Jeffmack, I'm sure you could sell it, but if you are seriously thinking of selling it just to get an 09 version of the same bike, unless you don't care about it, you're taking the hit on the depreciation. I looked at Kelley Blue Book last night and the Tour Premium is going to $18,995 as a recommended re-sale privately. Less of course on trade. Don't know what you paid for yours, but that is several thousand dollar hit. Just me, but I think I'd get as much done as I can trough warranty, maybe spend the extra money you're willing to spend on the extended warranty, and try to make yours right. It's an inconvenience, but I know I couldn't afford it.

I guess I'm lucky because my problems are few and minor. But, I love my bike, I get such joy just riding to the grocery store and back. I feel for the guys on here that have had so many issues, but as long as Victory will pay for the warranty work, I'll keep up with it. From the looks of it, doesn't really look like anything is different to me. I could be wrong, but I bet it's the same bike, built the same way. But I am sure that they probably corrected a few problems, but they've also been updating the 08's, such as the remap. Either way, I hope you get some resolution. I know that I've thought the same way that a $20K something bike shouldn't have these problems, but Harleys are just as much, if not more, and they have more problems from what I know. So, I'll stick with this. Other than 2 people from here posting it, no one else seems to have engine problems, and I figure that's the heart and soul of the bike anyways, so the other stuff should be minor fixes for the most part. Good luck.

Wow, you don't trust your Vision to make it out west?? After a paltry 15,000 miles, i would trust mine to go anywhere. 3 weeks ago I went to South Dakota and back with no issues at all. Totally dependable. Sorry yours must be different.-----Metalguy

jeffmack, if your not happy with your '08, I dont think an '09 will solve your problem. This bike is not for everyone ( hard to believe after reading the posts on this site). I have been a Harley rider for many, many years with very few complaints. To me, the Vision is a excellent mix of harley and goldwing (new thech with old style). Does not matter what you ride there will be problems or complaints. This is my first bike with FI. After dealing with FI 8 hours a day, five days a week, a carburator has always been my first choice on motorcycles. It's what I grew up with. It's what I know. Even though I know that they are a thing of the past. No one likes to be stuck in the middle of no where. But it happens. My biggest complaint with the Vision is lack of dealers. If you ride a harley or goldwing dealers arent a problem. I can honestly say that my minor problems with the Vision have never left me stranded. It is still in the back of my mind though. "Digital" is something that has been around for about 15 years. Considering my age, that's not a long time. It's hard for me to accept that, things built after 1975 are reliable.

Bottom line is, if the Vision is not for you, by all means try something else. I dont know about you, but for me, throwing a leg over two wheels is better than climbing ito four. If your not happy, you owe it to yourself to try something else. The fact that you choose to ride rather than drive, has nothing to do with WHAT you ride.
