SC, Bluffton | Yeah! Just got an email back from Kewlmetal. They make the helmet locks,
kewlocks, that mount to the end of the Kuryakyn ISO grips. They also make
bar ends with locks for other bikes. Joe said that by Christmas, they should
have some bar end versions available for the Vision.

Most of the time, our trunk has too much in it for a 2nd helmet. The trunk is
also too small to fit 2 of some of our full faced helmets. If there is any air
foils or fins, etc., the trunk doesn't accomodate 2 helmets of that size.

San Antonio, Texas | That would be a cool accessory to have. I agree with the trunk sometimes being too full for both helmets and would like to add this little mod. Can somone let us know when he's ready to take orders? |

I had these on my Kingpin work good, but did have one freeze up, wouldn't unlock after 2 years. Good thing it didn't freeze up with the helmet locked in it. Also, when you hang the helmet try not to hang upside down, it could fill with water when it rains while your away from the bike. |

Warren, Vermont | Just one question -- has anyone ever had their helmet stolen? I leave mine on the seat, on the dash - anywhere it fits and in 40 years of riding have never had a helmet stolen. I find it funny that some guys carry their helmets with them into starbucks or the restaurant..

I am just trying to keep honest people honest. Just like a locked door. You could get the
helmets I am sure, and you could get in my house I am sure. Just watch out for the Chihuahua.
I once had a locked pad lock stolen from the saddlebag, and the cigarette lighter stolen out of
the 12v socket. Something else small too. It was 20 years ago, and really stupid, huh? Bad
apartment complex I lived in at the time.

Never had a loss of any kind in 50 years - my main concern is leaving bike and helmets exposed to rain. And hell, I have left my keys in the ignition too many times to admit. Helps to live and ride in a relatively wealthy environment - and any persons likely to commit a crime are unable to dispose of a bike (or even ride it), and there is not much of a market for used helmets.
I have had saddlebags with just a strap closure for the last 30 years (including 5 years in Florida) - containing rain gear and such - and never lost a thing. Gotta go with Hippo on this one. |

Rockford, IL | I also have never had anything stolen from any bike. Heck, I've even left my leather jacket sitting on the seat several times in the past. But then again, this has been on a H-D, maybe folks tend to not mess with things around H-D bikes??
Bud of mine uses a lock like the one pictured sometimes depending on where he parks and how long he is gone and such. He likes it because the "head" of the cable is small enough to go thru the zipper pull of his jacket. Or I guess you could run it up thru the jacket arm and thru a couple helmets. I think I may get one to toss in the saddlebag......

Woodland Hills, CA | I too have never lost a helmet, or had anything taken from any of my bags (which remain locked most of the time). I admit I do not often leave my jacket in plain sight on the bike unless I am close by, but usually leave my helmet. If there's no room in the trunk, I just hang it from the handlebars. When it rains (or just looks like it may rain), if there's no room in the trunk, it goes with me. Never felt the need for a lock though. |

| never lost a helmet. usually leave them on the ground now that i am in pa. it is a no helmet state so if one disappears its not going to kill the day-just maybe me. when i lived in ny or now when i travel to another state i bring it into what ever place i go but i wouldn't be caught dead in a starbucks. i leave the leather hanging from the handlebars. |
