Clinton, CT | Noticed today when we pulled up behind a car at a traffic light that my center "cyclops" light is out. This is a 2013 with 3k miles on it...  Just seems strange to me that it crapped out this quick but I do run with it on all of the time (not like that should matter).
As a 2013, it came with a halogen bulb vice the HID (I believe it is a 35W HS1 bulb). I was considering upgrading to HID for the cyclops and the main headlights but just don't feel like ripping the entire front end apart to do it.
Times like this when I really miss my garage! I might feel differently about tearing the front end down if I could wait and do it during the winter in a heated garage...
Ok, will stop whining now!

My cyclop bulb went out on my 13 around 3k also. I don't keep it on and used it sparingly since the running lights and my clearwater darlas through off plenty of light |

Clinton, CT | Yea, after posting this I discovered the halogen HS1 bulb seems to be a royal POS...
Debating swapping to HID or just upgrading to a better quality halogen bulb.

Lexington Park, MD | I have no running lights and use the cyclops HID on my 2011 to cover that. Lighting and visibility good enough I don't plan on adding anything. Halogen bulbs are stock but not sure the brand. Most likely going HID headlights when me burns out but have been happy with the halogens that are stock n them. Unsure the brand but would think someone here knows. Good luck on it!

The "cyclops" is the running light. Problem is Victory changed from HID to a crappy (quality) halogen setup in 2012.
Looks like they are going back to HID for 2014 but for me (2013) and the 2012 bikes, it looks like we either upgrade or don't use the cyclops.

I would fully agree but I didn't expect to change them more often that the oil!

Manchester, CT | On my 2013, the Cyclops/center light isn't a running light. In order to illuminate it I flip the headlight toggle switch. Otherwise the only lights that come on all the time by default are the 2 left/right lenses containing 2 bulbs each and my clearwater darlas |

| The halogen cyclops on my '12 died at ~8k, so I swapped out for the Vic HID cyclops, and while I was at it I replaced the main beams with HID too. Too big of a job. |

Birmingham, AL 08 MC Tour Premium 2012 Bronze Mist | Seems around 8k is the magic number for the center halogen to die on a 2012.
Since my first vision was the 08 that came standard with HID, I was just waiting for it to go so I would have an excuse to get the VictoryHID upgrade.
It installed easily and puts out 1,000 times more light (give or take) than the stock halogen.
I really recommend anyone with the stock bulb do the $49.99 upgrade to HID. It's worth every penny.

Yes I know that, must have been rambling.. lol. I was pointing out I have not added additional running lights because the HID cyclops is that good IMO. In case someone were debating if it was cost effective to convert over to HID vs adding running lights to compensate. IMHO yes, convert. I have NO idea why in the world Ma would do away with such a great feature. Well yes, I do. Cost cutting. I spend a fair amount of time on back highways and the cyclops being HID is spot on for what it was intended for. Very much a pisser that some friggin bean counter convinced somone that they should remove it from the 12/13 models. When my halogens blow I will most likely convert driving lights to HID as well but I wish I could find the manufacture of what halogens are installed on now. They do work! 12K+ and kickin well. Sorry you got to invest money into something MaVic jacked up but if it were me, I would go with the conversion. Hope the feedback helps.

Clinton, CT | Still looking at both options but leaning hard toward shifting to HIDs for all 3. Only down side I can see is having to tear down the entire front end of the bike but replacement HID bulbs look to be about the same price as quality halogens. Since I expect I'll have to take the bike off the road again this year when the weather gets cold and nasty, I'll have some down time to get it done...
I would be curious about opinions for those that have done the hi/lo HIDs. Looking specifically at going with a pair of 55w H4 hi/lo HIDs and a 35w center HID cyclops driving light, all at 6k for temp (color).
