Toronto, ON Canada | So I'm the new owner of a Black 2013 Vision, and I am given a Ride Bell... After looking the bike over, I have to ask, Where are you guys and gals putting yours?
Interesting that this site calls it a "Harley Bell" lol

| I mounted mine in the intake area of the front wheel, theres a couple of mounting holes on the gas tank could not figure out what they were for so I mounted the bell in that area.

He's tied to my left bar and I got him from Kix at "The Loneliest Motorcycle Shop in America" in Fallon, NV. His purpose is to remind me that he's ready to do me in the moment I mess up. elgin mn | mine was given to me by a co worker. it is mounted on the bottom of bike, when I went up lift at dealer it broke off, picked it up and cable tied it back on. (couple of empty bolt holes on bottom of motor) |

W'ford Tx | My wife gave me mine, they're supposed to be mounted at a lower point of the bike to keep the gremlins from coming up. I mounted mine on a safe spot near the shifter linkage. It's just a bunch of mumbo jumbo for a company to make $10 off of you but my wife went though sneaking behind my back to purchase it so I put it on with pride. |

Peru, IN | I don't believe in the gremlin bells, either, but I had 2 on my Nomad and I'll probably get around to putting one of them on my Vision. The story goes something like this: The gremlin bell needs to go as far forward and as low as possible on the bike. The road gremlins are attracted to the sound of the bell and gravitate to the bell where they promptly fall off onto the road. If you put it up high, everything below that is subject to the gremlins wrath. If you mount it towards the rear of the bike, everything forward of that is subject to the same. You can buy one for yourself but its power is only 1/2 that of a bell given to you. BTW, when a gremlin falls off a bike, it makes a pothole.
I agree, it's just a way for a few companies to make a couple bucks but it's a cool story line. |

This is where I put mine..basically look underneathe the headlight near the front forks. |

Peru, IN | That's too high. It needs to be closer to ground level or the gremlins will fall off the bell right back on your bike. |

Manchester, CT | Monkeyman....Do yourself a great service and get the Screaming Banshee. It has helped me out a number of times when I needed it. One women actually jumped in her seat when I honked it when she almost moved directly in my lane just a head of me. They just came out with version 3.
Now back to the riding bell....I just ordered one! |

You'll need 2 of them to equal the strength of a single bell given to you. Another forum I'm on had a gremlin bell trade. Everyone who wanted to participate posted in the thread. Someone took all the names, put them in a hat and picked 2 who would send each other a bell. Kept going until everyone was paired up. Seemed like a good idea. That's how I got one of mine.

Camas Washington | I have mine under the engine just in front of the oil filter. If you get under the bike there is a small C loop you can attach it to. Make sure you have a heavy duty ring for it. 2 1/2 years at 20,000 mile it is still there. |

New Mexico | I bought mine a couple of years ago after a friend died in a motorcycle accident. His last name was 'Wolfe', so bought one with a small wolf face on it (not visible in pic). When I wash the bike I take the time to give it an extra wipe or two and remember the good times...

"It has been tradition among some of us for a long time to attach a brass bell to our left swingarm to remember our Brothers & Sisters who have gone down riding. "
I would just need to keep mine somewhere where the Co-Pilot can't get at it to smack me in the head with it ....

Mechanicsville, VA United States | I'm thinking about starting the Roofing Nail Legend.....here's my plan, I sell($10) you a Roofing Nail attached to a wire and you put it on or under your bike. Now what the Legend says "that I write" you will not get a Roofing Nail in your tire but the guy behind you might if the Nail comes out of the wire holding it! Who wants one? If you buy one for your buddy you're and idiot cause it doesn't work unless you put it on your bike. Sorry but I just couldn't resist......only YOU can make yourself live longer then the next guy and not go down in a blaze of fire.IMHO |

| The bell should only be used if given and should be mounted as low as possible. There are several holes below the bike that will serve as a good mounting point. Also if you sell the bike the bell should go with the bike to it's new owner and clean the bell when you clean your bike.
