Land O Lakes, FL | So I was headed home tonight from the gym and while cruising down the road I made a lazy clutchless shift into 6th gear. A few moments later it felt like it popped out of gear and the bike just quite running. Then something else interesting happened, the hazards turned themselves on all on there own! Like the bike new there was a problem, shut itself down to protect itself and then turned on the hazards to help protect me. Interesting bit of engineering and smarts to be completely honest, something that concerned me at first then eased my mind and allowed me to focus on getting the bike into a parking lot to try and restart it.
I was able to cycle the key and it started right up and all was well for the rest of way home. Still not entirely sure what all went wrong but it all seemed to turn out ok. Anyone else experience anything like this with there Vision? |

Northeast Ohio | My sixth gear has popped out a few times in the year and a half of ownership. However, it never stopped or did the hazards. Unless this happens again and won't start, you'll probably never know what it truly was. |

orrick, mo | Check the battery connections. Even if they seem tight if they are even the slightest bit loose it could cause problems. Everytime mine would act weird I would snug the cables just a tad and all the problems would disappear. I finally locktited them in and have not had any issues since. |

So. Indiana | Seems silly, but have you checked your fuses? I think there are two blocks on the Vision, correct?
For the hazards to come on automatically, there must be an electrical indication that something is amiss.
Past that, as shifting seemed to be some contributor, what I would look at after the fuses would be
1: Ground, particularly your neutral switch and/or clutch ground interrupt and/or chassis ground for your motor. Obviously there is some power if the hazards work.
2: Wiring for your gear indicator at the transmission. Not sure how they are doing it on the victories, but it'd be worth a glance.
Can you cancel your hazards or do they stay on if the ignition is on? Can you put it back in neutral and if so does the neutral indicator light come on?
I would likely see if the bike can start again from neutral. Mixing together ground interrupts, gear indicators and neutral indicators makes for a lot of potentials. On a bike like the Vision, I'd first see if it can start again, if the fuses are all fine. Then I would do some continuity checks on what I mentioned above. If everything checks out fine... THEN you might have to look deeper.

| Did you Blip the throttle then shift? Blipping is a No No with Vic's.
Star washers or lock washers on cable terminals and you'll never have loose cables. 1/4" sizes is what you want. Never un do positive cable first.
But make it the first cable you hook up. |

Land O Lakes, FL | Everything is square on the battery, it's also brand new, only a few months old. Couldn't turn off the hazards without cycling the key and I never hit the switch for them. Rode all day today and no issues... Realy weird. |

So. Indiana | Hmm... odd indeed. Sometimes with electronics, if you make two circuits at once, they can sometimes read as a signal for something else. Not sure if that's what's happened, but at least it's fine now!

Tifton, GA | When I make a less than solid shift from 5 to 6 my bike seems to jump back and forth from 5 to 6 until I make a good firm shift. The gear indicator flips back and forth 5 to 6 as this is happening. I still have over 2 years of warranty so I am not worried and the more miles I roll up (just over 44,000) it seems to happen less. Maybe I shift better or the transmission is getting broken in better. Never had the engine die when it happens or anything else happen. |

So. Indiana | Particularly going back and forth. At least you have a warranty. That type of situation could wind up with some munched gears. I read something about them making stronger shifting forks... I wonder if there is a flexing issue. Hard to believe, but still odd. |
