I received an early Birthday gift from my wife. A new Scorpion EXO-100 helmet in Gloss White.

When my wife asked why I wanted white I told her "It might be cooler in the summer." which is one of the reasons I had.

Monday night she told me that a County Motor Officer was writing tickets in front of shop (Blanco Road north of Huebner in San Antonio). He was so busy that she worried that he might get writers cramp.

Tuesday Morning was going to be cold so Monday night I brought my gear into the house.

As I started to walk out of the house she said "You look like a cop in that white helmet."

"Really" I said. I then asked, "What color Goldwing did the cop ride, black?" She answered "Yes!" "Imagine that" I said.....I told her that I loved her and walked out to my black 2008 Vision to ride to work.

For the last three days I have noticed that most vehicles have provided me more room and stayed away from me. I have seen oncoming cars slow down...dramatically slow down. Most cars and trucks are two full car lengths behind me at a stop sign or light.

Why didn't I get a white helmet sooner?

Reminds me of my Florida bike back in 2000. It was a Canadian RCMP Honda 750P (police) that I restored. Always fun to freak out the folks when I rode - people would do the craziest stuff when they saw me. Poor cops have to put up with that stuff every day!

White is also the most visible helmut colour for sure ...

My last bike was a R* with a fairing / hard bags all white ,,, ( looked like a HD cop bike ) got a lot of comments that it looked like a cop bike when I came up behind someone,,, come to think of it I was given more room till they noticed I wasn't..

I have a white HJC FS-3 with the black visor. Definitely looks like a cop helmet; and when you're tooling down the road with modulating headlights; more people have the propensity to move aside for you,

All my helmets are white. It is the most visible color.

I wonder what that would look like on the trunk of a black Vision with white lettering.

BE
POLITE

I can see that in reverse on the front blade as well.

I've rode with this guy a couple of times. It does get attention and people do act differently...even after they realize what it actually says.

That picture is pretty bad, It looks very professional when you actually see it.

Maybe I could add "Terrific" to each side of the trunk. Mis-read as "Traffic"?

Good Idea! You would want to put something above it like "Have A" and "Day" below it, or something.

I think people don't get mad at him when they realize he's not a police officer because of the actual message. Everybody gets it, and I doubt many people feel like he's crossing any lines.

Black vision is fine. Throw a light bar up on or under the luggage rack or something that looks like it. Not illegal to have it. White 3/4 helmet with a headset will help.

Look at all those crown vics on the road that have the spotlight. Not illegal to have it. Just can't use it while driving.

Today I just bought the new Schuberth C3 PRO in gloss white. They say they reduced the interior noise from 84 dB on the old C3 to 82 dB on the C3 PRO. I also got the built in intercom and stereo system with FM receiver. I'm anxious to try it. I chose white for conspicuity sake.

I have the black EXO-100 with Sena SMH-10. I can't convice ppl I am no a cop. LOL. I excorted a piece of steel from the World Trade Center from Daytona to Manatee County a couple of years ago. I put dual red/clear dash master strobed on my trunk facing rearward with suction cups. It was very cool. I have to find a photo.

I actually work in law enforcement......and I ride to work, in my uniform.....on my Vision. I own 5 motorcycles and they all have headlight modulators (I wholeheartedly believe they have saved me more than once).

Try to convince people your not a cop when you look like a cop.....and your riding a bike with flashing lights on it down the road.

......on the way to and from work Id say on average 4 to 6 people pull over on the shoulder for me.

If it wasnt for the flying gravel when they do it it might actually be helpful.

Ive thought about riding without the lights.....but Im not lowering my visibility advantage.

I try to wear a jacket as much as possible.....but since I have to wear a "uniform" jacket - its not much help.
