any tips on installing c.f. on center console? I painted my alum. matte black[dont like the quality and scratches too easy]. should i remove paint,should i use primer? or should I find someone experienced? If i mess up does it remove easy and try again? any advise will be appreac...

You can do it yourself. There are videos on youtube that show you how. Just clean it up good, visualize the process, cut it a little big and wrap. Make alignment reference marks so the "grain" is straight. If you goof you can peel it pack and start over. One of the videos shows a guy wadding the stuff up in a ball and then unpeeling it and laying it out. You will need access to a heat gun. I did mine two years ago and it still looks great. If you search through the archives here you should find a link to the video. Get the 3M branded product.

First off wash it real good so no wax or oils. Get some 200 wet sand paper. Put a couple drops of dish soap in a what ever, sand it real good so there is no shine. Now your ready for C/F.
Use something that produce heat like a hair dryer or heat gun. Warming the C/F makes it easier to wrap around. Trim all the C/F out of the holes. If you use a good quality C/F wax should not leave white spots behind. If you want you can even clear coat the C/F.

Or if you really like the look of the black consul why not get it power coated black.

here is where I bought mine and they have colors. There very fast on there shipping and it was to quality C/F
look for video on how to and you don't need all the sealers and what have you as long as your surface is clean.
