Went to walmart and bought some balls and looked for a cutco knife but none was to be found so me and Martha Friggin Stewart took to hackin at the seat. Rock on Martha!!! Once the inital cut was in it was like the first scratch in the paint.....Oh well everything else is minor now.

Set up shop right next to the computer screen and me and radio teacher did the install together, step by step so thanks teach!! Getting the quick release bar down through the foam was a real bastard so I had to keep hackin and wackin with Martha and a craftsman screw driver to move the foam and to get the angle right but when every thing alligned up it all bolted right together like it should.

With setting up shop, a soda break, getting tools from the garage, kicking the black plastic shavings from drilling the seat under the computer table and picking up and reinstalling the seat it took an hour.

Reinstalled the seat and am suprised how solid the back rest is being only bolted to some plastic. The wife wont be too pleased with this modification. I can see how this is going to cut in to her space so I'm sure the quick release option will be employed when we ride together. I dont really see how any body could ride there unless your a skinny minny type of lady.

Over all am pleased how the after market back rest attaches, the quality and workman ship and the very best part????? it didnt come from china!!!!!

Time to go for a quick ride....Later Dudes

Sometimes I put the backrest into the quick-out just to keep the passenger in the passenger space, and out of my space! Some passengers will make you sit on the gas tank and lean forward. The rider's backrest will keep 'em in their place.

Keep the locking screw nut loose so you can tweek the pitch of the backrest until you find 'AHHH..That spot'

I am happy that it is working out you guys as well as it did for me. I cannot imagine riding without it.

Just installed the Utopia backrest on the Enterprise.... Thanks RadioTeacher for the video! It made my nerves of cutting into my seat a lot calmer.

You'll love the backrest! I'd suggest you try it while riding two up-there's more room than you think. I'm 6-9, 260 and my wife is 5-8, 140; she says she has plenty of room. We have done several 1-2K rides together, and no complaints. I just adjust my backrest up a little-it's all good. Enjoy!

Call Utopia!

Here is a link to their web site. The 2008-2009 seat you have to cut. The 2010 and newer seat is a bolt on with no cutting.

The backrest has a 'breakover' function. I have no issues with installing my NELSON-RIGG full cover, just folding the danged thing up again!
