I recently purchased a 2013 Vision. At 1400 miles I noticed oil on the engine fins and found that oil seemed to be leaking from a plug located below the exhaust port just above the head gasket. It appears to be a quick fix by removing the plug and putting some sealant on the threads and replacing it. It doesn't appear to be a torx or hex plug. Has anyone else had this problem or know what this plug is and what tool is used to remove it? I have an appointment with my dealer, who is brand new to Victory, so I would like to know as much about this as I can.

That sounds like your cam chain tensioner. There should be a sealing washer underneath it. 55 ft lbs is the torque on it.

Should be a quick fix at the dealer.

I think you are talking about a press in plug that is tappered and seals a passageway. It possibly could be press in further. Hoepfully the deal knows about it.

Here's a diagram that may show what you are referring to:

I appreciate everyones comments. It does appear to be a press in plug. I noticed it on the front head also just below the exhaust port. Maybe it just needs to be pressed in further, but I will leave that to the dealer. Thanks again.

I want to follow up with everyone concerning the issue with the oil leak at the plug located just below the exhaust port on my 2013 Vision. I took it to the dealer and we both looked at the service manual and online to get some information about this plug. We couldn't find anything so he called the company and was told that the head would have to be replaced. What we thought would be a simple fix has turned into much more. The dealer is very supportive and has committed to do what ever it takes to make this right. I thought everyone would like this new information. The company rep did say that they had seen this before but it isn't real common. Lucky me.

Holy sheep chit! That sucks. Glad they're going to take care of it though.... someone must've been inattentive during assembly of the motor huh?

Wonder why the head has to be replaced; instead of just pressing that plug in more?

I'm going to go look at mine right now... just for shits and giggles. Am wondering about this plug; and where it is at....

On edit: Found that plug. Wonder what it's for?

It's some type of oil port or leads to something like that. Modern way of doing things; replace.
