Hidden repair part deux.  My tang broke on the fuel door cable that holds the sheath and I did some make shift repair that is work very well.  Today, I cruisin' down the interstate and suddenly my glove box swings open.  I go, "huh?" and try to close it but I notice the door pecker is sticking up from the latch.  Well, wouldn't you know it, it broke completely off.  So, I've tried some glue but it don't seem to be holding well, so now it's the JB Weld fix.  I've got to let it cure for a while, but I think it will do the trick.  If it will hold my jeep's door hinge on, at least for a while, it ought to hold the tang in place for ever.  I think I've got the first hoopty Vision, so I might start turning it into a rat bike, starting with a few Ron Paul bumber stickers...

Yep, JB Weld is good stuff. I once had a Suzuki GS1000 that fell down and got a hole in the side of the case which created an oil leak. Being the poor redneck that I am, I mixed up some JB Weld and mud-dobbered it over the hole. It fixed the leak and I rode it that way for a long time.

I have tried to figure out what I am, and now I know, a poor redneck. Oh, boy, I can hear someone screaming at the monitor now...

Well the JB Weld cured over night and it seems to be working perfectly. 6 bucks for the epoxy and repair was done in under 24 hrs. I just wonder what that little door cost?

I had somehow broken the tab that holds the screw clip on the rear of my Vision where you screw the RH side of the silver rear "bumper" cover. It was the one between pipes and saddle bags. jB welded that screw clip in 1.5 years ago, removed a couple of times and still holding strong.

I replaced my door this spring, as the velcro repair was wearing out, 1.5 years. The door and the gasket (sold separatly) was over 120.00.

Hey the door on mine broke 2 days ago, I will try the JB weld as well. And yes, that door by itself is $110. My trunk cable broke 2 days before that and that is a $20.00 part if anyone is wondering.

My glove box pecker broke off too. I super glued it. It fell on the way to Rolling Thunder. My wife left it in the pocket of her jeans and it is gone. Any thoughts on how to fix that? (please try to refrain from the wife jokes...I know I left the door wide open on that).

firejedi, your in a fix, sorta. The tang has a hook to it and I don't know how to replicate that unless you're a plastic worker.  I glued mine on and realize it needed reenforcements at the base, so the jbweld is that base.
