I know there are more than a few riders on site with 100,000 miles on their engines. My question is how many times have you adjusted your cam chains ?? Thanks........steve

The engine uses oil pressure to adjust the cam chains. No oil pressure no adjustment and no engine.

That's one of the things that gives freedom to the Freedom engine - freedom from excessive toil and trouble.

One of the things I really love about the Vision is that it is literally an oil change and ride bike.

My KTM Adventure on the other hand.

The oil changed are a two beer activity. You have to pull one of the two tanks, pull three drain plug, clean two screens, and replace the filter.

Then fill the thing back up elevate the front wheel, run the engine for 10 minutes at idle, verify oil level, then finally you are ready to ride.

Its a fun bike to ride, but the Austrians are not good at planing for maintenance when building products.

My brother is a BMW rider and works on them to. The first time I walked into his shop when he was changing a clutch on a RT I was shocked. Major disassembly to get to the clutch. He makes good money working on the basic valve adjustments that are frequent.
Love my Vision....
