Stoped by the show yesterday here in Vegas. I wanted to share some pictures. I even ran into Lloyd Greer. Nice guy. Enjoy.

Nice shots, Victory is becoming a showcase bike, keeping the passion alive. The best move for Victory was for Polaris to acquire Indian. It is the old school bikes that has made the way for Victory to make a bold step out in a tough market. People want to be believe at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you ride. But at the end of the day, it does matter to those who are building and selling. Victory may be able to stand among the big boys since it has a very popular sister.

IMHO Indian will not have much of anything to do with how successful Victory is.More people are coming to Victory all the time because Victory is building a viable alternative to the other American bike.While alot of people like the Indian's when they actually ride and price one most folks are probabley going to buy something else unless they are like some of my Harley riding friends that do not care about anything but being part of the Harley lifestyle.The Indians are cool looking bikes but from what a local wrench that has worked on a few in the last couple of months has told me about the bikes quality I don't think Harley or Victory will be losing very many sells to Indian.I wish Polaris well with Indian,I just hope they continue making the best most comfortable easiest riding motorcycle I have ever ridden in over 40 years of riding.The Victory Vision !

I'm liking Victory from soups to nuts, but I see a trend here and it didn't make the bend until Polaris acquired Indian. Victory is a great bike, always has been, but it has had problems getting to be known. Gunny comes on board, Polaris acquires Indian, Victory rebadges and now it seems like I meet more people that knows what I'm riding. I'm hearing hard core Harley riders talking Victory, I'm hearing wannabee bikers talking Victory, I'm seeing Victory gaining tractions. Coincidence? I trow not. Make no bones about it, Victory is hard targeting the bagger market right now, and Indian will have an alternative, so to speak, when someone who cannot afford the beauty, style and grace of an Indian, will certainly take to the Victory Cross Roads and be happier. I don't think many get it, and I like to think that I do, but Polaris has taken an interest in Victory unlike before, and they are out for blood against the competition. You heard it here first.

I agree Chris. Victory has really taken off, especially in the last few years since the Cross bikes came out.
Just a few years ago it was rare to see another Victory on the road. Now you're starting to see them everywhere.
IMHO the Indian acquisition will turn out to be an excellent investment for Polaris when the P-Indians roll out next year.

+1

I'm not a huge Indian fan, but for me is just another 'layer' when talking to folks. The more they want to talk the deeper I go:
* American Made
* Stock comes ready to ride
* Radio/Cruise/Heated seats & grips/Electric windshield
* 106 Engine/6 Speed = Smooth
* Arlen Ness
* Sonny Barger
and now owns Indian.

And thanks for the pics. When put all together like that is a really nice line-up.

I think the purchase of Indian is a great marketing idea. I doubt that they will be any high volume sales, but it gives a customer another alternative than HD. It also gives a Vic dealer something else to sell besides atv's and Jap bikes. I don't see myself haveing the need to purchase another bike for a long time, but I still want the company to grow and succeed. Besides I like to look and drool. Thanks for postin the pics. You did a good job with them.

What is the design of the Indian motor? It's hard to tell from the photos, due to the distance, but are they the S&S motors from a few years ago, or is Polaris going after the original motor design, but updating them?

Great pics! Since marketing is being discussed here, I have a huge question.
Why don't more Vic dealers place their name and location on the Vic shirts they sell?
I've been in a lot of dealer stores from Ohio to CA and I bet not more than 1 in 4 do this.
If they do, I always buy at least a T shirt and if they don't, I seldom do.
We all know all the HD dealers do this, but if something works so well, sometimes copying is not a bad thing.
