It's belt tension. Same thing happened to me. Vision belts are set much looser than the steal framed belts. Next time you ride the bike and it's nice and hot, jump off at your destination and check your belt tension. I'll bet it's tight as a drum. Because the belt is so tight, it pulls unevenly on the rear axle and can cause bearing noise and subsequent failure. A loose belt is safer than a tighter belt generally speaking...
