| The gas smell is so bad it's get had to bare. The stealers says that there is nothing wrong and I will have to live with it. There has to be some remedy to this.DO any have a fix?

| Check your gas cap. I had the same problem and a new cap fixed it. |

Edmonton, AB | If I remember correctly a few years ago someone here had the same problem and it turned out that the filler neck in the gas tank was slightly bent, possibly from the weight of the gas nozzle and hose if not supporting the weight when filling. It wasn't much but it was enough to cause some problems with fumes...especially just after a fill up. |

| Have the same issue. I need to replace the gas cap. Mine's a 2008 model. The only thing I've done to help with the issue is to make sure the runoff hose in the gas cap compartment is in the correct position to allow runoff to drip underneath the bike. I don't have the smell anymore unless I fill up the tank right before parking the bike in the garage. |

Jax, FL | Apparently the gas cap is a reccuring problem. I was going to replace mine when I noticed it wouldnt close all the way on occasion, I have to back it off and retighten it. I have yet to figure out why this happens but you can sure smell the fuel when it does. |

Check your gas cap. I had the same problem and a new cap fixed it. Think u may have something there,looked @vision on dealers floor it had a rubber gasket mine doesn't from day one.Will now try to get a new cap from dealer but they think I've been a pain already.Do the cap cost alot? |

Ventura County, CA | When an if you do get a new gas cap, make sure you put it on the same way each time. The problem is actually the tank bending. Once you have placed a new cap on it, it tends to form to the illformed tank. If you put the cap on the opposite direction, you WILL smell gas again. I know this from personal experience. Once I turned the cap back around, it went away. I now make sure the lettering is placed in the same way that I take it off. |

| I was smelling gas my self about a year ago. It turned out when I put the nozzle in I bent one of the ears on the inner neck. I tuck a channel lock and bent it back.
All is good now. |

| Keep in mind in hot sun or hot garage gas will expand and run out over flow tube or come out between cap an tank bung |
