Hey guys wanted to give you an opinion on 1st upgrade. The J&M speakers installed with no amp was a complete waste of time and money. I did the front and rear, but honestly could not tell a 1% difference from stock. Sending those back and will now try kickers with small amp.

What year is your Vision? I had these in my 2008 and there was an improvement. I could listen at 15 without distortion, but gave up some highs... On my 2011, the stock ones are much better.

I had the JM's and found they were less distorting than stock. I just recently replaced the JM's with the kickers - no amp still. The kickers are better than the JM'S. The are clearer with no distortions of music when in the highway. They aren't any louder...just deeper, clearer sound. I only replaced the front speakers not the rear. The rears are still JM's. I'm happy with the kickers and probably won't contemplate an amp.

Calgary, AB,

Guys, what size and model of Kickers are you using. I'm just getting ready, and based on some previous reading was going to use J&M, I'll have to see if I can even find Kickers up here in the north.

I'm planning to go speakers only, NO amp. Just want more clarity than I'm gettign from stock, especially on the hiway.

You can get the kickers from your dealer or online. I would definetly do the kickers over JMs. If the kicker were available when I upgraded to the JMs, I would have. Off the top of my head I think the model # is p5250 for the kickers. I would just order from a dealer. The speaker are priced almost the same with dealer vs an audio store, which is rare.

Calgary, AB,

Adirondacks, thanks.  Looked it up on their website,  it's a model ps5250, 4 ohm, listed under their Marine stuff,, and it says it is matched to Vic and HD OEM head units etc.

I'll have to source online I think, local dealer keeps nothing like this. Maybe a stereo shop.  At least I have the correct model now.

Thakhs agains for the help on this.

NOTE: you will have to modify your speakers enclosures if you buy the Kickers ....these speakers have a big magnet in the back an WONT fit in the enclosure.

Do a search (if you haven't already) on replacement speakers. You'll find there are several that fit the bill. If memory serves, there's the J&Ms, Kickers, Polk, Infinity, Pioneer, Alpine.

Installed 2 sets on 2 different visions, one was my '11, and the other a '10. Neither enclosure had to be modified.

Calgary, AB,

Iova,it appears others have retrofitted Kicker without mods at least on "10 & '11 model years?

What year Vision did you run into the need to modify the speaker enclosures on? Just wondering if it is model year specific or not.

The enclosures are the same for all models for the Vision. I have a 2010 vision 8 ball....so we may have different Kicker i guess LOL....are your speakers, front panel and the enclosure fit nicely....no gaps?

hey Scorebo,

My Vision is a 2008. I learned something funny about the stock speakers the other day. With ear plugs in, volume up to 30, it sounded ok. I just needed a little more volume. The ear plugs seemed to filter out the distortion in the speakers plus wind noise.

Replace the speaker enclosers with foam baffles. Then the magnet depth no longer matters which greatly increases your speaker selection.
