Anyone using I-Phone 4S on vision! I have original I-Pod cable, works fine, how ever I remember some issues when I-Phone came out about no charging. Upgrading soon and wonder if 4S will charge and ply like my I Pod?
Thanks.

I have a 4S and the white cable on my 08 Vision. It won't charge mine. I tried the Dockstubz route and it didn't help either. Next step will be to try the "old" black cable.

I haven't tried to charge my Ipgone 4. But, I did install a ram mount Garmin GPSMAP 76c 76cs 76csx GPS. I found one for cheap at a Cabelas bargin cave. It fit the Iphone 4 great. I used a dremel to cut out a piece so the volume buttons were not constantly pressed.

Update,
original 08 vision, orginal white i-pod cable. Does not charge, display song titles, and no control from the handle bars or consol. My I-pod just started to act up and now i think is will be needing a new cable or i-pod. Have to chick the cable plug, as it is installed at the begining of season and only occasionaly removed to add new songs. As nice as it would be to plug i-phone in, I would rather not have to continually plug and un-plug phone so I may just stay with the I-pod.

I have an 08 with the white cable too, mine doesn't charge but I have handlebar and console control.

My 08 with the white cable and an iPod third gen does everything including charge. My iPhone 4s does everything EXCEPT charge.

I presently have the white cable on my 08, and it does everything except charge my iPhone, which really isn't that big of a problem. I did buy the charge adapter for the phone, and while does function exactly as promised it just doesn't fit in the glove box while it's plugged into the phone. I'm thinking of getting the dock extension cable for the iphone, (about $20 or less on Amazon) then plugging the charge adapter into the bikes cable and the extension while stuffing it all under the radio and have the end of the cable poke out into the glove box. It should give me the same effect as buying the correct cable for the iPhone, while keeping $80+ in my pocket.

I have the $99 cable on my 2011 and it does it all for my 4S, no issues at all. Older visions can use the new cable but you have to get the dealer to do the software update on the radio.

I have the black cable on my 08 and an iPhone 4 works like a charm. charges, plays, controls and display work perfectly. Even my gf iPhone 3GS works just as well.

Need to by part number 2877894 (2008 and 2009) the black cable and I would think it will charge the 4S since Apple hasn't really changed the charging system.

I have the white cable on my '09 Vision and simply added this inexpensive in line charge converter to keep my iPod charged & playing on those long trips- works on iPhones too. Brian

NOTE T ALL WHO ARE CONSIDERING A CHARGE CONVERTER FROM CABLE JIVE: I purchased one from cable jive over a year ago and within a week, my 4th gen ipod was fried. I had used it for months without charging capabilities and without any problems. I sent it off to Apple for repair and was told it had gotten wet(which it hadn't) and that type of damage was not covered by warranty for repair. Then I got a used 4th gen ipod, and hooked it up without the charge converter. I worked fine for a few weeks so I then tried the charge converter and it also failed within days after using the charge converter. CableJive's response was for me to send the charge converter to them for replacement and that the damage to my ipods was my sole responsibility. USE THEIR PRODUCTS AT YOUR OWN RISK! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I know $100 for this cable part number 2877894 black cable (2008 and 2009 Vision) is a little steep but well worth it if you use a aftermarket charger that could fry your iPhone or iPod. I did not want to spend the 100 either but it was well worth it and I know I won't fry my phone.

I want to explore further this iPhone 4s issue. Mine works but I want full functionality. I would love for the phone to speak my gps instructions loudly. I use TomTom for I phone. I would love to hear commentary on a good Bluetooth helmet situation with the iPhone. I have wasted a ton of money so far with hawk helments and vega helmets which I could get connected to blluetooth but not serve as ano intercom.

My issue with the Jive Cable is it does not lock in, it just pushes in. I have to put a severe bend in the white cable for my iphone to fit in the glove box with it in-line. A couple of bumps and the cable unplugs it self. I have never used it. I had a bright idea and purchased an extension cable on ebay. Joke was on me, it doesn't do data transfer on the iPhone.

Good idea. I now use my old iphone 3G on the bike just as an ipod. I have it in airport mode and the battery lasts about a week. Since I put a SENA SMH-10 on my helmet I wear my helmet almost all the time. It's a liitle warmer with the ear flaps zipped into the Scopion EXO-100 to hold the speakers, but I can actually hear the bike's radio better, esp on the highway. They block the wind but not the music. If I choose I can listen to music thru the SENA, but I do not like riding with music right in my ears.
