Today, in a few minutes, I will be leaving to meet my Dad for lunch. It will take me two hours to get there....about 100 miles. Good thing I am on a Vision! Going from North Tacoma to a small tavern in Mossyrock, if they are open. If not, we will head to Elbe for a "scale shack" burger! I will take pics!!! Bye bye!!!

Have fun and ride safe Metalguy!

There is never 'too far' to ride for a burger. The wife and I have been known to pop over to Yakima for lunch, which is about the same distance.

Lunch is usually the point we turn around and head back.

I have gone 1200 miles(round) to get a free t-shirt and 250 miles for lunch.
It is never too far if you enjoy it.

sounds like a nice ride to me.
I have gone from Santa Maria CA to Temecula CA to meet some friends for breakfast.
A little over 200 miles. So as long as you have fun it's all good

We have gone down to Nogales Mexico for street tacos and a shot of Tequilla from a dirty glass... About 168 miles each way.

Well I messed up, no camera = no pics! Crap. All in all, it was about a 200 mile day. Lunch was good, and Breaker, if you are ever in Mossyrock, head to the Pioneer Tavern there. They have a burger called the "Dam burger" and it is good for two people. 1/2 pound of beef. Had one with cheese and bacon today, and it was great! The twisies up through Morton and beyond Elbe were wonderful! No cars slowing us down. The mountains looked great today!-----Metalguy

My wife-unit and I did a 530 mile round-trip for lunch just 2 months ago along with others. She loved it. I wish only that it had been 1000 miles.

Some years ago, I used to routinely go from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West for lunch. It was about 190 miles each way. Of course, it may be worth mentioning that I was using a turbine airplane or helicopter on those trips! Longest bike run just for lunch to see friends was probably about 150 miles each way. The ride was almost always as important as the lunch. And those were some good friends.

Done 376 mile round for a bowl of soup for lunch. I was a seafood soup in Baltimore and worth the trip again soon.

Is it the destination or the ride? Even when I travel for food that was just Ok, because I rode, the day wasnt a total loss. For some reason the food tastes better after a great ride.

No. 1 and I have rode to WI for free food. )
It's not the distance but the ride that makes it all worth while. I went to breakfast in RI and ended up in Pine Bush, NY and rode home to only ride back to Pine Bush the next day to start the V2V. :P

I went 450 miles one way for a fried chicken dinner and 530 one way for a cheeseburger. I have a friend who owns GMA (they make motorcycle accessories and brakes) who had a guy working for him that went to Houston for a cup of coffee. That was around 1,000 mile one way!
