Love my 2011 Victory Cross Roads. Best bike I have owned. A little annoyed with the gas filler. It swings back and the gas nozzle does not line up particularly well when fueling as the gas cap swings back and in the way and does not allow a good opening for the nozzle (in California with vapor recovery nozzle). If the cap could be removed, it would fill correctly but it doesnt. Any ideas on how make the fuel filling experience better. BTW, I bought the McCuff and it did not help any.

I'm not from Cali, but are you filling from the clutch side with the handle bar turned slightly. You can rest the handle of the filler nozzle on the bar and know it's easier to fill from that side as the nozzle then points into the deep part of the tank instead of into the bike spine part of the tank.

I have one that I use when I'm not in a hurry. They do allow you to get a complete fill without any splash on your tank.

Can the stock hinged gas cap be turned so that it hinges to the left? I would assume that the holes would line up no matter the orientation of the hinge.

Only 3 screws hold the cap in place.
Other 2 are dummie screws.

You are right only 3 screws, but there is always a but. Under one of the screws there is a rubber piece, and directly below that there is a small hole in the rim of the tank. If you turn the filler lid 180 then you will defeat the purpose of the hole and little rubber piece.
