Always used USAA but they no longer accept new motorcycle policies so that kind of bugs me since I've been a memeber over 25 years. I now have Progressive on the bikes but feel it's a little high. Who would recommend their chosen insurance company ........Thanks Fellas.

Markel Insurance. They have been really great to work with. Rates are better than Progressive and GREAT customer service.

I switched to Progressive from State Farm about 5 years ago because they were considerably cheaper. My policy is due for renewal and Progressive went up $104 from last year. I've had no claims. I emailed them and asked them to explain. They said that they were raising rates all across the state due to high weather related claims, and assured me that all the carriers would be doing the same.

So------so far I've gotten quotes from USAA, Geico, and Markel. Geico wants $449 and Markel wants $408 per year for the same coverage and deductibles that I currently have with Progressive on my 2000 SC and 2008 Vision. Progressive was $$424 last year and wants $528 this year, and that includes the "cash discount".

USAA is subbing their coverage out to Progressive. I went through the quote process with USAA anyway, but came up with the same rate. Looks like I'll be leaving Progressive.

In my neck of the woods the differences between companies policy costs are just about a burger and fries and a large soft drink.

Do a rate search.
Every time I renew my insurance the first thing I do is verify that it is still the best price. They will ask for details about your bike and what coverage you want but I have consistently gone with a good price for the last several years. If I can get insurance simply renewed and it is within about $10 of the competition, I will do that just to have the same company long term. If the price difference is much more than $10, I switch companies. When it comes to costs, there is no such thing as loyalty. What I have found is that most insurance companies will give you their best rate the first year and after that they start to let the costs creep higher. They count on you not switching. I switch as soon as I see it happening to someone else who will give me their best price.

I think all of them had an increase in price! I've had USSA for many years, home/auto and a policy with Progressive for the motorcycle, they all went up!BO at work!

Allstate and Dairyland ask about different deductibles. I raised my car an house to a thousand and drop my payments
What ever you don't go on line and ask for quotes unless you want a ton of junk mail

Rider Insurance is great and very in/pensive but only available in the mid-atlantic states, like MD, PA, DE, CN and I think a couple of others. Unfortunately, I have moved to Texas and Rider doesn't carry heir policies here. So in a couple of months I have to get new insurance. Any suggestions for Tx, anyone.

I have Grange Insurance and they have been very affordable. Full coverage, uninsured motorist, the works (just no medical) and its $239 a year. Progressive pays awesome I've heard, and Geico sucks at paying claims. Haven't had an accident at this time so I can't say how Grange pays.

Had Progressive for years then when I bout the VV the rates went way up. Shopped around and ended up going with Dairyland. USAA was too high even bundling household with autos and the bikes. They way overvalued our home and wouldn't budge on the valuation.
