I just wanted to formally say "Thank You" to radioteacher for his tremendously helpful UTube clip on bypassing the relay to allow the middle bulbs of the tail light to work when the turn signal is on and braking. I have read the written instructions on completing this procedure, but the video clip really help make the process so much easier to understand for me. The idea of fooling around with the electrical wiring on my Vision was very intimiating to me. I am not real handy with technical issues on the bike and the visual aspect of hie video clip made it super easy for even me!

Thanks again radioteacher for the time and effort you put into the video clip!

I second this post! This was the first mod I made when I bought my VISION in Dec 2009. I was also intimidated by doing some wiring work on the bike, but this was easy peasy. Thanks to radioteacher...for sure! And a big thanks to all others, I learn a lot on this forum. What a great group!!!

Did you also make a video for the install of the 4710 module? You mentioned doing it on your bypass clip.

Your welcome. Making stuff for YouTube is like throwing food on the wall and seeing what sticks.

I have installed the 4710 but not documented it. Magic (a member here) is going to ride over some weekend and we am going to document the 4710 install on his Vision.

I just added some LED amber flashers to my Vision for parade work and might work on a video on them.

And now that's it's finally cooling down, maybe we can be getting to that installation. We need to coordinate our schedules and figure out the best weekend. I can handle the camera, you can handle the tools!

I found the same video but I didn't hear him correct and cut the wrong wire. Good thing I didn't cut it close to the connector

john frey,

The best way to do the mod is to remove the pins. I added some annotations and balloons on the video. Can you guys see the annotations and balloons or am I the only one that can see them?

Sorry you got the wrong wires. Is there a better way to describe them?

Maybe it would work on November 11th. Do you get some time off on Veterans day? 11/11/2011.

How did you remove the pins? I looked at my connector (2011 VV) and it appears different from multi-pin connectors I'm used to. The pins seem to require something besides your average removal tool. Am I missing something or am I having a blonde moment?

Check out the thread below for a post by glighto11. This works for removing the pins from the 2010 and newer bikes.

Pin G and H. I do not recall which connector half I did, it was the smaller of the 2 halves. Unclip the plastic wire retainer on the rear of the connector then push out the pin with a stiff wire. I used a torch tip cleaner because it was handy. I suppose a paperclip would work. Just poke around a bit till the tab releases and it will slid right out.

I agree with Tennesse comment 100%. I'm a very visual person and if I see it done I can copy anything. I to want to thank Radioteacher for all is video's contributions on youtube and here on this forum. I look forward to any mod video's or maintence videos you have planned to post in the future. LOVE THEM.... I have even requested one or two videos on a subject for Youtube from Radio. One that I would like to see when you are doing a project is how to get all the damn plastic off of our bikes the right way. Again thank you Radio for your time and energy in making them for us vision owners.

Yes Teacher, you can see the annotations. Maybe if they stayed up longer might help? Us visual guys are so busy watching your hands that we rarely move our eyes and ears from what you are doing.

When I strip off the panels from the Vision I will have the camera handy. I do not have any plans to do this at this time but I am sure that it will happen someday.

If that's when you want to do it, I can certainly arrange to make the bike and myself available (and that's actually easier to do that day than on a weekend) Just let me know. That also gives me time to get the parts.
