OK....well as you can see by the photos below it is amazing I have made it this far without a major skin graft. This is my first ride...a 1982 Kawasaki CSR 650 that I paid cash for in 1983.

Open course...Amateur Rider! I did attempt and lived to tell the tale. Miracles such as this never cease to amaze me.

Picture from Rockport Texas, 1985

Ride Safe...note if you gear up like the idiot in the following photos you have missed the mark.

That don't look nothing like the fella on youtube. Ok, Ok, I'll be the first to ask, what did you do with that guy? Inquiring minds want to know. I know I do! That right there's funny I don't care who ya are! Throw us a bone and throw out one of those early chicks from the 80's so Songfan can make a poster. I can't wait!!!!!

Senor Pollito, <----Spanish term for small male chicken.

Those pictures were from over a half a lifetime ago. I have seen a lot of hair turn gray and/or fall out plus I have not missed too many meals since then.

I will look around for an 80's girl picture....Hey here is one now!

It hard to look like a bad a$$ when you're wearing those tighty whitey shorty shorts!

Do you have a sock stuffed in them ?

Did you sing "Moon Shadow ?"

wow. I was a paratrooper in recent years and had to know a lot of history. I don't recall this little scoots but it looks like it is time for googling. I do recall Corgi though.

Okay, I'm done, now I know why, they're British, cool beans.

My first real motorcycle bought in 1964, a '60 Puch 175 "Twingle" 2 cylinder two stroke, one combustion chamber, one plug. Imported by Sears On a ride in New Zealand in 2000 we happened by a used bike dealer in Christchurch. Unbelievably he had this one on the floor. I almost bought it except that the shipping would have cost more than the bike. Check out the other bikes he had. It was like a vintage used bike lot.

My first bike

The rest of my bikes are here.

A photo a few things I miss from 1974.

Youth
Hair
60's vintage Les Paul Jr.
1966 BMW R50 - my 1st "real" street bike.
Horsehide Biker jacket
An old friend

Not necessarily in that order. Youth and hair I can blame on nature; the rest is on me.

My first ride was on the back of my Dad's '48 Pan-Head. My first bike was a "Dream"... Honda Dream that is... a 160! Wow.... I'm the stud on the right. These matching bikes were once part of a fleet operated by the Fargo, ND Elks Lodge. Must have been a sight to see a bunch of old farts riding those beauties in a parade!!!

Navigating a suburban landscape on a early 70's SL350 that would occasionally park itself in our living room.

I've since learned the error of my ways in regards to both helmet use and parking.

I had one of these it was a Yellow Motobecane from Europe with chrome and scroll work on the paint it had a 50 cc motor and none of the US restrictions the New ones my friends had. I burned it up on a slate patio working on new rings the motor was hinged and fliped out to the side for service I was pushing the jug on and tiped the bike over fuel had sprayed out of the chrome gas cap and ignited when the bike hit some stone or slate I was trying to catch the frame and heard a woosh the flash made me jump back I ran to the garage for a fire extingushier and put out the fire but the damage was bad melted most of the headlight area and the handlebar wires. I let my buddys use her for parts

This is a pic I found on the internet, since I only have an old Polaroid of my first bike a red 1961 Cushman Super eagle. But dad and I pulled it from a junk yard when I was 13, so 89 after we restored it I rode it through the early years of my high school until I graduated to a 1947 HD flathead (which I still own)

Didn't get any pictures back then - too expensive, or we were too poor. But here is a picture of my 'first ride' in 1959 - a '55 Vincent Black Shadow that a pal of mine had just acquired. He was very proud, and stupidly asked this 15 year old if I wanted to "take it for a spin". Well, DUH ! So I did - and laid it down in the gravel field I was driving on. OOPS !

But it did lead to my biker mania - and 21 bikes of my own - 52 years ago.
