| hi everybody excuse my lack of knowledge . I'm thinking of getting a proformance cam from Lloydz for my 2011 cc . Is there a down side in the trade off for h.p. ? do I gain hp and torque accross the board , or do I lose something in one area to gain in another. I'm looking for a little more snap in the throttle to offset the weight of the bike, but not at the expense of a smooth running dependable motor. any constructive comments appreciated.... poppamark

Posts: 164 Quad Cities, IL | I was curious about the same thing so I asked my dealer about it. In the end, I had them do the work and they continue to honor the warranty. I had RJs Performance in Ottumwa, IA do the install of my Lloydz cams, fuel controller, air intake plate and IAV at the same time. This was their first Lloydz cam mod so they were in contact with Lloydz to ensure they were comfortable with all things. In the end, no issues. Obvious increase in hp and improved torque across the board. I wouldn't hesitate to do the cam mod, well worth the money in my mind. I know many others have done their own mod or had them done outside of a dealer. I haven't seen any posts where this has impacted warranty. |

Lloyd has a cure for that too, with his reprogrammed ECU. It lets you shift at 6000 RPM and gets rid of the 120 MPH speed limiter. The Lloydz ECU is the icing on the cake.
Do it. You'll get performance that is slightly better than the GL1800 Goldwing's, with no loss of fuel economy in normal riding. You'll want the cams, intake plate, and a fuel controller. Reprogrammed ECU adds to the fun, but it's not necessary; you'll still get 110 HP/ 110 TQ even without it. Stock exhaust works fine, as do aftermarket exhausts.

| I just had my Lloyds cams and VFCIII installed by Rylan Vos of The Vic Shop last week. The transformation of this bike is remarkable....great power and torque at all RPMs with much improved drivability. Fuel mileage improved by 1-2 mpg (calculated...not from dash readout) on ride home (280 mi.)
Rylan also found my intake boots had de-laminated and replaced them. Rylan is a very thorough, knowlegeable, likeable guy. I will take my bike back to him for future upgrades. |

Posts: 323 Troy, NY | Got my Vision cammed by LLoydz last month. The only downside was regretting not getting it done sooner . Bike runs smoother with more power and my bike is getting a couple mpg more....when I'm not twisting the throttle too hard. |

Posts: 880 Orlando, FL | Just as FYI based on MY experience. My ride is new (2011) and has CFR pipes and a PC-5. I have had TWO dealers (not the selling dealer whom I will never let work on my bike again) try to give me an "uh-oh" about this. Both started to tell me the warranty was void. I just gave them a funny look and they backed off. But technically, I do believe that Victory can null and void the warranty if ANY mods are done to the bike. And remember guys, Victory has to approve all warranty work or they will not p[ay the dealer for it. Just an FYI. |

| Federal law requires that the manufacturer prove that the modification caused the problem. If not, they have no basis for denying the claim. |

| As bad as I want cams there's no one in my area that does them so I'll wait for Spirit Lake. I did contact one dealer who told me they had to take the motor out to install the cams. No thanks lol. |

PERformance CAMS from Lloydz, specifically the VM-1s do not suffer from any TQ loss in the lower RPM ranges.... the only downside is the cost. |

Get in contact with members "KevinX" and "Vicbuilder" here on this forum. Kevinx is Kevin Cross, the chief mechanic at Polaris of Gainseville Fl. http://www.polarisofgainesville.com/ and Vicbuilder is Rylan Vos of The Vic Shop in Iowa http://thevicshop.com/. Both of these guys are top notch Victory mechanics and have been trained in the Vision cam replacement procedure developed by Lloyd Greer of Lloydz fame. http://www.lloydz.com/
Both Kevin and Rylan have been known to do "cam parties" if they can get four or more owners to meet in one place and have work done at the same time. "Cam parties" mean a group of owners set up a time and place for either Kevin or Rylan to travel to and spend the day doing performance upgrades. Either of these guys can do the cam, intake, fuel controller upgrade in less than three hours, and the motor does NOT have to be taken out of the frame. Yes, the dealer is correct, the service manual does say to take the motor out for cam service. Lloyd is one sharp cookie and he figured out a shortcut.
If you have any trips planned anywhere near Pine Bush, New York (Lloydz), Gainesville, Florida (Kevin), or Des Moines, Iowa (Rylan), set up a time in their shop, and get the work done. They can literally get you in and out in a half day.
I hear that Lloyd may be training other shops on his method. Contact Lloydz and see who they may recommend in your area.
