| Thanks again today to the Victory engineers that designed the front and rear tip-overs on the Vision..This is the second time I have dumped my new 2011. I have a short inseam of just barely 29" which makes for a challenge at times..Both times I was at a stand still and could not keep bike up-right..Mostly because of my not paying close attention to where I pulled off road...Bought new Vision 8-ball seat today which is 1' lower than stock, and am told this will help...I have to give up heated seat, but don't use it anyway....Rear shock is also an option but costs a lot more money and on Michigan roads I want the higher shock travel....I also burned the right calf of my leg on the right exhaust the other day and the lower seat position should help this issue also as my leg will not be as close to the heat shield. Have sat on a Vision with the lower seat and it does make a big difference for me....BTW I am almost 72 and not a strong as I used to be......Isn't that what Toby Keith sings about !! |

David, I'm assuming this is your first heavy weight. It will take saddle time to get used to it. I've barely got a 28 inch inseam, so I'm familiar with your inconvenience. With a good set of motorcycle boots, with 1 inch heels and 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick soles, you should be good to go. Work on you slow speed skills. Age and health should dictate going trike, not inseam. |

Posts: 9 Lacey, WA United States | Short inseam here also. Had my Vision lowered at Arlen Ness's store in Dublin last year. What a difference! It's only an inch but makes it so much easier to plant the feet firmly on the ground. I ride with my wife as passenger most of the time and the lowering was the best thing I have done with my Vision. However, sometimes if I had to park in a spot where the slope of the parking area inclined up from the left side of the Vision I could not get the kickstand down. I would have to drive around the parking lot to find a spot to stop. (A royal pain in the arse). I purchased a lower kickstand from HMD and that made parking my Vision the way it should be.
Before this "upgrade" my Vision was the best motorcycle I ever owned, With the Lowering and the HMD kickstand it is now the better of the best - of the best. Thank you Arlen Ness and HMD!!!!

| Thanks for the replys..After reviewing the incident in my mind yesterday, Denny Ray hit the nail on the head..I was trying to put down the kickstand at road side to look at map. The slope of the road was higher than the right side of bike and I tried to lower kick-stand which hit pavement. So as I tried to angle bike to get stand down, over she went..No damage, just ego....Had to find some passers-by to help pick it up...I may have over reacted when I ordered the 8-ball seat, as I don't have $300 bucks right now..But the 1" lower seat should give me some mental confidence and I do like the idea of having both feet on ground at stops...BTW I did add higher heels and soles to my boots which really work great......

Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | Shall we all dress in drag just cause! I know a guy that could help in this department, he does it for a living. The best part is that I can put my fag wagon in my showcase when I'm done riding it as a piece of motorcycle art and history. How many others can do that? Not only that, maybe just because it has too much sex appeal over other styles is what makes us so attracted to it, sensually, instead of rising my testosterone levels. |
