Posts: 161 Oregon. | Yes folks, I am finally doing the 1500 mile Iron Butt BunBurner ride. I can't convince my wife to go with me, she doesn't want to go. Oh, well. Anyway, I leave on the 23rd of this month and will tell you all about it when I get back. No, I'm not worried about the bike. I bought it in December last year, have 8000 miles on it, it's a 2009 model, seat is still comfortable, and I ride it every chance I get. Love the bike and wouldn't trade it for anything else. |

Posts: 161 Oregon. | Leaving Eugene, OR, going to Oregon City, turning east and riding to McCammon Idaho. Once in McCammon Idaho, turn around and start heading back. Stop and rest in Boise, not as hard core as Rollin. Then finish it off Saturday. That's the plan and it should be a pretty good ride. This will be my last long ride for the year. I figure what better way to end it, and show some of the negative people on here what the Vision will actually do. My wife and I did the thousand mile Iron Butt on it, I believe it was March. Now the 1500 BunBurner. I'm really excited! |

Posts: 444 Bay of Gigs, WA | My wife and I rode from the seattle area to the tri-cities and back over Chinook Pass, about 260 miles each way. She allowed that 260 was about as far in a day as she wanted to sit there, or anywhere else, for that matter. Not much to do except play "Death Race 2000" on her smart phone, I guess.
I rode from Umatilla, OR over to the Seattle area in a day, and could maybe have gone back, riding solo. |

Posts: 161 Oregon. | Completed the 1500 mile BunBurner. I have all the paperwork filled out to submit to the IBA, and will mail it Tuesday the 27th. The ride was great going to Idaho and coming back into Oregon. The morning of Saturday I left early from Boise, ID the temp was around 49 deg. Fahrenheit when I travelled through the eastern edge of Oregon. Yes, the grip heaters were on, and yes I was wearing an electric vest. I was still wishing for some warmer clothes though. I completed the ride in 32 hours and 16 min. I left Friday morning at 0400 hours and was back home Saturday for lunch. Good times. The bike performed flawlessly. This was my second IBA ride this year. Anyone know if this is the first Victory Vision 1500 BunBurner? I'll look it up.

Posts: 444 Bay of Gigs, WA | Avg. 46.5+ mph. Impressive over that distance. I doubt one couldn't do that here in Puget Sound-traffic's too heavy. Still, with 250 mile range, one could get over the mountains conceivably and maybe make it...

Posts: 161 Oregon. | Thanks Rollin. It was a good time. Wish fall wasn't here, I feel like summer was a month long and I didn't get enough riding done. Weather in the PNW is not going to stay nice much longer.

Yeah, saw that I wasn't the first. Oh well, still had fun doing it. Rollin is right about those IBA rides. They are challenging, yet so invigorating when completed.

Posts: 495 Carrollton, TX | Congrats Brian! I have done 1,438 miles in 24 hours on my Vision and have several 1,000 to 1,200 mile days in less than 24 hours. I must say the 1,438 miles in 24 hours was pushing it especially since it was the last day of a 8,000 mile 15 day trip. There is no better bike to do it on than a Vision. I would like to do the coast to coast ride that Rollin is going to do next year from Alaska to Key West. That would be very cool!

Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | There was a Harley competition that did something similar. They all started somewhere in Florida and first one to Alaska won the trophy. It would be interesting to see if Rollin' or anyone else that does the trip, does it faster than the Harley's that made the trip. Just interesting. |

Months of planning and preparation, you finish the ride, get that last receipt and you are the only one that knows what has happened. . |
