Fountain Inn, SC United States | I bought my Vision tour pack as an accessory to the vision so it came with a different key than the bike.
VR member RedRider (giving credit where credit is due) recently pointed out an interesting idea about the Vision's double-sided keys.... If the lock set only uses one side of the key to open the lock (like many GM & Ford cars), maybe we could have a key made that uses one side cut for the ignition combination and the other side cut for the tourpack's combination. Has anyone tried this yet?

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | I used to work in a hardware store and cut keys when I was in HS. After my dad's Ford was stolen soI cut a key with one side for the door and the other for the new ignition. I than cut a notch in the head so I knew which way to insert the key. On the those cars if prevent carrying 3 keys if the ignition had been replaced.
Good call. I wish I had remembered it. Maybe if I had the situation on my Vision I may h ave.

But getting the lock out of the trunk seemed to be the challenge, I had thought of jsut getting a whole new lock set, but it was $ 180- no thanks.
I have learned to live with two keys.

| Glad it worked. My brother loved having 1 key for both trucks. I like to buy my spare keys when Ace Hardware has their 99 cent sale. |
