I am fighting to find the front end vibration that makes the dash and fairing vibrate? people say i am anal but the sound of this vibration drives me nuts... I also have a shimmy in the front end most noticeable on slow front turns or when i have the Mrs on the back with a loaded rear bag. 7700 miles on the bike and the front tire weare seems very even, always watching tire pressures etc...HELP if you can sometimes make me wish i "d kept the Honda...

year? miles on the tires? isolate your rattle by touching each of the various parts, but it is most like the bezel, or a loose trim screw.

Don't know about the dash vibration, but my new 2011 Vision with only 2400 miles has a similiar low speed "shimmy" in the front end when I make turns in my driveway or in parking lots...Seems to go away once bike is moving and otherwise fine...Run 40psi front and 41 in rear, as do others in the club....

That low speed shimmy is common with all years. My 08 did it and so does my 11

Thanks , but my Valkyrie Interstate didn't have either problem and probably was a mistake thinking i was "Upgrading" in my eyes Victory has a hill to climb...not real impressed with quality workmanship...wish Honda had the wisdom to keep making that bike. not sure what to do...back to the stealer i guess, which hasn't been much help...

well the dealer isnt going to fix the shimmy. ill tell you that right now.. if its that much of a bother you might want to unload the bike now while it is worth something.. for me my 08 or 11 wasnt a issue at all. it was just something that i noticed in Very slow speeds. it was never a issue of safety or what not. just saying.

Pulled the center console apart after getting tired of a rattle coming from it. I was a little surprised to find that all four of the nuts mounted in the clear plastic radio casing were loose and the casing itself has a number of cracks in it. Looks like the plastic has become very brittle.

I had a shimmy when the rear tire was low. I mean real low...5psi. I only noticed it during slow turns. I also noticed the same type of shimmy when I released all the shock pressure just to see what would happen. In both cases the bike rode fine in a straight line. Correcting the pressure eliminated the problem both times.

My 08 vibrates more on the left side than the right, I remember a thread about this not too long ago.
My dash has a slight buzzing on the left side, but it hasn't bothered me enough to warrant taking things apart....yet.
Like Arkainzeye said, if it bothers you that much it might be best for you to get back on a Honda.

What have you chosen to do?
keep us updated.

I hate to hear about someone not satisfied with Victory.

I had a rattle that was coming from the right side of the dash that was driving me nuts. After some exploration I found that the left side had a rubber grommet wedged between to intersecting pieces of plastic just below the mirror (as seen from inside the dash from the front with the cowling removed). The right side was missing this grommet. The 2 pieces of plastic that touch look to be a guide nub and the corresponding plastic piece with a hole to accept the nub. The grommet was mashed between the two. I put a similar grommet into the spot on the right and that greatly reduced the rattle/buzz I was hearing resonate at about 3000rpm.

It's not uncommon for the wheel weights to fall off, the rear tire weights fell off my bike. I resolved by pulling the weights from the front tire as well and putting 3 oz of dyna beads in each tire. Pretty cheap fix. Don't know if that is the source of your shimmy, but cheap to try and will help extend the useful life of your tires.

Regarding rattles, I have been chasing them all over the bike, but the dash rattles have been the most elusive. try tapping the different pieces and see which ones rattle when you tap them, Then take the area apart and wedge weatherstripping between the offending parts. The rattling and buzzing drives me crazy too. If I liked a loud bike, I'd just put a set of pipes on it to drown out the buzzing.

...I try not to read post like these because it makes me want to find the stuff that is "wrong" with my bike. I agree it is annoying especially if you focus on it. I focus on the ride and the joy of it and all the annoyances fade away....

I guess I'm lucky, my 08 doesn't have these problems.

I am thankful that my 2012 has neither of these issues (at least yet). Rattles are the worst but with time and some of the tips already posted here you can find and elminate them.

My '08 has no problems like this either. Turning vibration that is normal for E3s with 13k. The only dash 'vibration' is when my garage door opener key fob is laying on the console just right, a little tap to shift the way it's sitting and all is good.

I would suggest checking the screws and bolts and make sure everything is tight.

And I would recommend "Ride-On" in the tires.
