Posts: 965 New York State | Well Irene paid me a visit I'm down 2 Motorcycles one Ranger pick up and my house.
I awoke 6 am Sunday to the sound of moving water.
I looked out the bedroom window and my spare acre was under water no shock it gets wet from time to time.
I looked at my driveway it was gone there was three feet of moving water on my entire 2 acres.
I attempted to drive the Ranger to higher ground but a rear wheel became stuck and it is not a 4X4 the cab started to fill so I abandoned it at the end of my driveway. I jumped in to the Wrangler and drove it out of the river.
I then had to return to the house and get my dogs Ruby and sabel the 1 year old Ruby was no problem I got her to the jeep and went for Sabel I carried her to higher ground when she burst free and starts to body surf.
45 min later I caught her I stuffed her in the jeep and started our adsventure to my sisters home normally a short drive.
All the streams and creeks were full blown rivers I got to one crossing and put it in 4 low and crossed a couple feet of moving water.
We made it to my sisters who lives on high ground The dogs and I stayed there until Donna battled her way home from New Hampshire.
Donna Ruby and Sabel are now guests of my mother and her husband .
It took me two days to be able to return home to see the damage Donna's Truck was YNN's lead story for those two days.
Donna,s truck is still in the same location but several feet below the road the body appears undamaged.
Both of my Bikes the Vision and the America were in their garage where several feet of water covered them.
Monday was a Holiday no one could get to work in NJ because all roads leading there were closed
So my Brother and my Brother in law rescued my Gun collection and the bikes..
They are on a trailer and when I get a hold of a vehicle with a hitch they will be taken to Locomotion for dissassmbly.
A couple feet of water took up residence and can be seen on every carpet or wood floor and the tide marks on the sheet rock is lovely in every room.
I used to have a patio bar set and a Grill but they went traveling.
My teak furniture and lamp from my front porch is missing as well.
The crater where my driveway used to be is scary looking the electric remained working even though every recepticle was under water.
The GFI in my Sunroom worked perfectly it triped .
I have lived in the home for 10 years I never had a wet driveway.
I am glad I woke up when I did because my yard looks like a war zone.

It's these life hurdles that make us all stronger. Again so sorry. |

Central Wisconsin | Christopher good to hear your alright and have a sense of humor through all this miserable mess. Hopefully some of your insurance policies will help out account of an "Act of GOD" clause. But insurance companies will probably say you didn't specifiably have flood/hurricane insurance. Wish you the best in dealing with this crisis.

My Wrangler parked in a cloud of smoke I thought it was on fire in my mothers driveway I shut it off opened the hood no fire but some smoke I checked the oil it was ok.
Turned the key to on checked gages all reading normal but the Check Engine light is on.
I'm exhauted from 8 hours in the sun on a roof installing Solar panels.
I told Donna I am taking the Liberty tomorrow to work it is my last vehicle still functioning.
I will probably be run over by a bus or find a weak spot on the thruway and disapear into a hole.
Without even looking at Donna's Truck the body guy said it is totaled.
My dealer has no 2011 Visions left new only the Pearl white Demo and an 08 Gray. |

Glad your all OK. Shit like this is un-nessary but happens. As far as the 2011 Visions, your dealer should be able to do some horse trading with another dealer any where in the US to get you what you want. If all else fails go on-line and search dealer inventory. Hope this all turns out OK and I will say a prayer for you and yours....
Grace and Peace...

Sorry for the loss and all of the troubles that are attached to it. Hope that everything does work out well for you. |

Major bummer.
I hope you have Federal Flood Insurance for your home.
Otherwise you may be SOL.
Insurance companies get very creative when it comes to denying flood damage.
I wish you well.

Posts: 457 Green Bay, WI United States | You know, this is the tightest group of people I have ever had the chance to deal with. When any of us are down we all get together to give our best or help in any way we can. Life is not fair sometimes but I for one am so happy that I can communicate with anyone on this site and they have my back or anyone's back who is in a bad situation and always give positive feedback. Keep the thought's and prayers going for Trek and his Family and from the bottom of my heart, Thank You all for all being great human beings, Riders of the Wind and unseen/met Brother's and Sister's..........
Until we meet, ride hard, ride fast but above all ride safe and free.....

Posts: 965 New York State | I love my Dealer They found a Silver and Black 2011 for me. It won't be Deer Crusher but it will be a very welcome addition to my life.I still have not heard from insurance other than the two death certificates I had to sign and my dealer had to sign both my bikes are still at the dealership the adjuster saw them over a week ago.
My home is officially uninhabitable We are striving for condemned I need to rip up the living room floor so that those who decide claims can see the damage to the under structure.
I have to say that there has been a large amount of aid around my area Baptist groups and other volunteers helping people remove very damaged home items to get to the floors and beams that need to be cleaned after flood damage.
I usually ride at least once a week for some group cause or person in need and to get the payback is unexpected and appreciated.
Thanks for the support here I will be a Vision Rider once again it will just take a little time.
When I will be a home owner again is the big question but that to will work out somehow

Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | That is a very sweetness / pretty / cool / awesome color combo bike, dealer here in Memphis has one. I kinda slabbered a little on it while looking at it. If it is going your way my apologies ahead of time. Otherwise, give it a new sub name and ride on! Kinda like Deer Floating Crusher! Sounds almost Indian like. Maybe a few suggestions might help:
The obvious one: Deer Crusher 2
Great Floating Sub Deer Crusher
Crusher of Floating Deer
Rollin on down the River - song that just popped in my head.
Crushing Deer Floating
Crusher Deer Floating We Are - Yoda like.
Or even
