Calgary, AB,
On my new to me "08, have just noticed that there is a quite noticable reflection at the top of the screen, about 2" deep, of the area with the 3 switches on the tank top panel.
It's reflecting because of the relatively light color of the panel, which is stock on mine,
Anybody found a good fix or replacement part, other than just painting, taping or something similar to get a less reflective surface than the brushed alumninun color?

paint, carbon, fiber, replace with a new model console. The only options I would suggestion. I painted mine shortly after purchase. The Vision is a great bike, eh?

Except for the pax grab handles, every bit of Pewter colored bodywork on my 08 street was already blacked out while the bike was a demo/service manager ride. This Winter I'm going to remove the chrome bezel surrounding the instruments and hit it with a few coats of DUPLICOLOR 'Black Chrome' to cut that 'sun behind you' laser show in the eyes that's just so much fun to deal with the last couple hours of a long Summer ride.
The 'designers' who dream that sort of stuff up must have started in auto design by doing pickup truck and motorhome back glass panel locations.

Say try putting black tape in the gauge opening rings. I did some carbon fiber but I do think black electrical tape just might do it.

Calgary, AB,
Thanks all. I'm thinking of a replacement shield as well (a bit higher), so wanted to try a temp solution before I investigated having it painted etc. as a new shield may have a slightly different angle, hence the problem go away.
I don't ride a lot with it up all the way, particularly since all up gives me he annoyance of the 2 inch strip of reflection right at the top.
Didn't even realize the problem with sun behind reflections' guess I'll have to look into that as well.

Then the electrical tape starts leeching out the chemicals in the adhesive because of old man Sol, and before you know it, a huge icky, sticky mess. The DupliColor stuff comes in a rattle can, and when done gives a pretty tough long lasting finish that allows the chrome to show under it's dark glaze like finish. It replicates the cool black chrome finish you see on really interesting, high dollar polished mag car wheels.

When I switched to the CeeBailey windshield, the reflection all but disappeared.

Calgary, AB,
Thanks Lojac, neat looking product, I've not seen before and in 7 colors. Which color did you use against what bike color, just out of interest.
Looks like with some heating it goes on very smoothly, is that so?
