ZAP! BANG! POW!
A guy has to have a serious dislike for the Vision trunk if he is willing to spend this much money just to gain the ability to remove the only reasonable place to mount an effective brake light. |

Good luck with that. Have you actually ever seen the base of this particular backrest? This aint your brother's $130 sissy bar. Unless you have connections in the fabricating industry (think Flo-jet machines), and also in the leather upholstery industry, you will not get a backrest built like the one they "used to" produce for the Vision....especially when you add in the $100 cover plate.
On an unrelated note: When you have the backrest and luggage rack, the trunk becomes a somewhat overrated accessory on the Vision....JMHO.

Posts: 152 Litchfield Park, AZ | What did the original backrest sell for? $495? Add in the $100 cover plate and take into account that you are buying a highly sought after accessory that is no longer available and paying a $115 premium doesn't seem that insane.
How many owners on here have spent more money chasing less desirable items for their bikes over the years?....Hundred dollar bolt covers?.....couple hundred for a custom cheese wedge?......$80 cup holder kits?.......looks like we have a room full of pots mocking the kettle.

I hear you loud and clear. My custom leather dash organizer set me back $400+ and it is the most enjoyable item on my bike other than riding it. Wallet, cell, everthing at my finger tips all the time. Yet I got balked at by folks who are paying thousands for non-functional bling. I figure we have our own money, we'll use it the way we want to...
I forget what the backrest, luggage rack and the panel set me back but all of it was new and off the shelf. This was another thing I never flinched in getting, even though I don't use it often. I feel I have the "complete" Vision kit.

Winter is a couple of months off. I'll show you what I'm designing and creating for a backrest by then. |

Raybob - Looks like the dealer came through with the backrest and luggage rack. Did you happen to ask if they had it in stock or if they are available from Victory?
You might need to add an extra rider on the insurance to cover them. |

If this is true Polaris/Victory is not communicating this well. My dealer (and he is a good one) is not aware of this.

Posts: 3 Clearfield, UT United States | My dealer searched through the dealer network and found a backrest.....he had the luggage rack in stock. I'm thankful he had the contacts to find one.....Stone's Big Boy Toys.... Ogden, UT.
I've had progressive insurance for years and they cover the first $3000.00 in accessories with no extra charge.
I've heard that Victory will only offer the Vision with a tour box.....so I guess that means the 8 Ball is history....

| I spoke with the seller of the $710 backrest. He put it on there hoping for $350.
I see one on the VMC with a reserve of $800. |

Make sense that the 8-ball is gone. Folks were buying and then trying to make it a lowered premium buy adding all the premium stuff and complaining about the cost. It's easier to customize the premium and make it a 8-Ball Extra. Considering what an 8-Ball is suppose to be it would be interesting if they sold a Vision Bobber. |
