I'm not one to do a lot of sleep dreaming and if I do I never really remember anything about a dream, or if I even dreamed at all. If I do dream it seems like it is always the same related dream; I'm being chased, usually on foot and I wake up before I get caught or as I'm getting caught. The ones who are chasing me are out for my life, so I'm running for my life, usually through the woods, down roads, around out buildings, or such. Occasionally a vehicle is involved, but never a motorcycle. The past week I've not been able ride because of a trip out of town for work, and to see my son graduate from Infantry school.

So, I'm not really sure what triggered the dream last night, but it involved me riding my Vision and being chased. I have never dreamed about my Vision in a sleep dream and I wasn't running for my life but it was a re-creation of a partial real-life situation where I was being "followed" down the road by another bike and I kept out running them because I flat out didn't want to talk "bike" with anyone. The real life incident happened over two years ago, and the rider finally gave up and went his way. After he went his way, I discovered my right door saddle bag was open, and surmised that is why he was trying to catch up with me to let me know. My right side door has a tendency to come open and I usually mistake someone trying to tell me it is open with them wanting to admire my bike.

In my dream last night things were a little different. As much as I tried I could not shake this HD rider, I could out run him in many places but he would always catch to me. After several attempts to evade this HDer and fade off, I finally gave up and waited for him to catch up. Finally, there he was on his big shiny HD RG and I'm wondering what it is he wants from me. Will he admire my bike and tell me, "Man, you ride like you stole it!" or "That's one hot bike, my next one will be a Victory Vision!" But when he flips up his visor on his full face helmet it is Teach, the guy who used to ride a Vision and went back to riding HDs. Now, I'm perplexed, did he know it was ME, and wanted meet ME? Did he want to recant and say he never really owned a Vision? I just sat there waiting for him to say something.

Finally he utters the words "Your left side saddle bag door is open, dumb a$$" and then speeds off busting my ear drums. I just sat there perplexed, shut my left side saddle bag and then I woke up.

The thing that gets me is that I've never had a problem with my left side saddle bag door, so I really don't know what the dream means. Can anyone help me with this one?

Your starting to make us worry about you Cap'n. Some good sleeping pills might help and if not it's time for some professional help.

I would check that left saddle bag.

Funny indeed. Unfortunatley, I have experienced this first hand while merging onto highway-17 heading towards Phoenix. Rider came up along side and pointed to my rear left bag that opened up (Doh). The first and last time I did not lock my bags when riding.

As far as your dream goes.....Sounds like a classic case. Better seek counseling for this one.
You're unable to let go of this past relationship and move on. Which you have made a subconscious decision to leave the doors open to this individual. Just saying. Or, your mad at your parents. Oh wait, that's from my session earlier today. Never mind. Just random.

Clearly you are subconsciously concerned about Bentley's dimples. In late 2007 and early 2008 many Vision riders had dreams such as yours.

I found myself staring at my Vision on the lift getting her 30000 mile service and I could have watched the entire time she was there but I got embarressed and rented a cage drove to the Toledo Zoo and killed the day.

TW - that is havin' it bad. Almost as bad as when my bike was in for some warranty work I was asking the dealer to send me "daycare" pictures of my bike as it was being worked on.

Capt'n maybe you do not need sleeping pills....just an air hose to clean the latch and some light oil(not WD-40). I had the same thing...open saddle door..not the dream thing.
