Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | Is it just me or is anybody else had enough of all the inconsiderate idiots? Enough is enough....this "time out" generation is f'en starting to get on my nerves. What ever happened to having to try out for the team, and if your not good enough you dont play. Now everbody expects the trophy......my head is gonna explode if I have to kiss any more butts of idiots, so I dont hurt their feelings.....whew, much better. Thanks for letting me vent.

| I guess I was fortunate, when my son was growing up I coached his basketball teams. You either made it or you didn't. And only the first three teams got trophies. | |

Posts: 354 20 miles west of Chicago. | I found this kind of funny. Two and three years ago when my younger grandaughter was 6 and 7, she was on a local park district soccer team. It was a hoot to watch the kids play, and the coaches were selfless and dedicated. The league had a policy of not keeping score, so none of the little tykes would feel inferior or get their little egos bruised. After any game you could ask any kid on either team what the score was and they could tell you with perfect accuracy, and which players scored how many goals. The policy blindly continues today, with the people in charge still thinking that they are doing the kids a favor by insulating them from the real world they have to grow up in and cope with, but the kids are sharper and more perceptive than the policy makers give them credit for. | |

Mkultra-I hear you loud and clear. Next time hand them the book, "The Greatest Generation". I'm only 45yrs old, but this generation knew what hard work, sacrifice, and dyeing for your country truly meant.
Everyone is so F'n Politically Correct. Tired of it personally. Grow some balls, and get some thicker skin. Doesn't mean you have to be rude and or even inconsiderate. What happened to sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will never hurt me. Well they probably burned that right along with Huckleberry Finn and To Kill a Mocking Bird.
How about you can't put a X-Mas tree in the Seattle International Airport, because all of the other religous communities get all butt hurt because their religion is not being celebrated. Who cares! Again, don't need to hear from those that are offended. Get thicker skin and have a juice box.
Now we reward people for doing mediocre work. Or hand out trophy's just because you participated? WTF! Thanks to those select mothers for getting involved in that one. Mom's are great, but there is a time and place. Sorry, not every kids deserves one. Again, save your PM's for someone who really gives a rats ars! I cherished my trophies when I was a child and displayed them with honor. Why? Because I worked hard and earned them. It's because I lost and it hurt at times, and that's why I worked even harder to improve. It's okay to let people fail. We're actually pretty resilient beings. Please refer to my opening statement and read the BOOK!
Lastly, it's okay to tell your children NO! Say it a couple of times, and it gets even easier.......
